🎶 IT’S FRIDAY… SO THAT MEANS GOLDEN OLDIES! 🎶
Two great sessions today, two lovely homes, and plenty to warm the cockles! ❤️
🎤 FIRST STOP — Perran Bay Care Home PERRANPORTH
Michael was back with the wonderful staff and residents at Perran Bay.
The lounge wasn’t quite as packed as it sometimes is, but you can’t have them bursting at the seams every single time! 😂 The residents who joined in enjoyed the session, and that’s what matters.
One of the things Michael particularly loves about Perran Bay is how the staff get involved. The chef popped in for a dance, along with several carers and the receptionist. It’s lovely to see everyone joining in, and it makes the whole session feel like one big singalong rather than just an entertainer standing at the front.
Michael is always greeted like an old friend at Perran Bay, and that genuinely warms the cockles. It’s a lovely feeling to walk into a home and feel so welcome every time. ❤️
The weather has certainly turned a bit wintery, but there is a silver lining. Perranporth Beach was looking wonderfully dramatic today, with the sort of weather that makes you appreciate being indoors with a room full of people and a few good songs! 🌊😂
🎤 NEXT STOP — THE GREEN, REDRUTH
Then it was off to Redruth and another lovely home, The Green.
Again, the lounge wasn’t exactly bursting at the seams, but there was a nice little crowd, plenty of familiar tunes and some dancing to get everyone going.
In fact, one particularly lovely young member of staff was putting on quite a show of her own! 😂💃 Her dancing was keeping the residents just as entertained as Michael was with the singing, and there was clearly no shortage of enthusiasm on that side of the room.
It’s moments like these that make Golden Oldies so enjoyable. It’s not just about the songs Michael sings; it’s about the laughter, the dancing, the staff joining in and everyone having a good time together.
There were a couple of new additions to the set today, too, with The Monster Mash and Let’s Twist Again making their way into the mix. 🎃🕺
Two different homes, two lovely little crowds and another Friday spent doing something Michael absolutely loves.
You don’t need a room packed to the rafters to have a good session. Sometimes it’s the people who are there, the little moments and the unexpected dancing that make the day. ❤️
