💍🎧 Two weeks and two weddings... Proper Job Disco could get used to this! 🎧💍

Tonight we find ourselves at the stunning Scorrier House for the nuptials of ❤️

With breathtaking views across the estate and glorious Cornish sunshine, it's a pretty special setting for a wedding. The weather has been so kind that the sides of the marquee are up, and guests are currently enjoying the sounds of Clidjah while showing off some wonderfully enthusiastic "barn-esque" dancing! 🎻💃🕺

There are plenty of Young Farmers and lots of familiar faces in attendance tonight, which usually means one thing... a lot of fun and a lot of laughter! 🍻😄

As always, it's a privilege to play a small part in someone's big day.

A huge congratulations to Mr & Mrs Gilbert, and thank you for having Proper Job Disco along to help celebrate your special day. 🥂❤️

☀️🎶 Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference... 🎶☀️

Today's Proper Job's Golden Oldies took Michael back to Little Trefewha in Praze-an-Beeble.

The first thing to mention... it was HOT! 🥵

The Cornish sunshine had turned the lounge into something resembling a greenhouse, and for perhaps the first time ever Michael started questioning the wisdom of a shirt, waistcoat and shiny shoes. The look might be smart... but it certainly wasn't cool!

One of the nicest parts of today's visit came before the music had even started. Several of the residents remembered Michael from previous visits and told him they'd been looking forward to seeing him again.

For someone who spends a lot of time travelling from venue to venue, those simple comments really do mean a lot.

Little Trefewha may be one of the smaller homes Michael visits, but it always receives one of the warmest welcomes. The residents might be few in number, but they're always so appreciative, and that makes every visit worthwhile.

The biggest singalong of the afternoon came during Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World. It was one of those lovely moments where the room simply sang together, proving that sometimes the quieter sessions can be just as special.

🎶🚐 Part Two... and up the A30 to one of Michael's absolute favourites! 🚐🎶

The second stop of today's double header saw Proper Job's Golden Oldies return to Tremethick House ( Anson Care Services Ltd ) in Redruth.

Some venues just have a special feeling about them... and this is definitely one of them.

The lounge seems to get busier every time Michael visits, and perhaps the nicest thing of all is that residents now remember him. Even better, they're beginning to ask for their favourite songs before the session starts. That's a wonderful feeling and a real sign that Proper Job's Golden Oldies has become something they look forward to. ❤️

To mix things up a little, instead of the usual photos, Michael recorded a short video message from Tremethick House, so do give it a watch! 🎥

One lovely lady sat beside Michael for almost the entire session, singing along with the biggest smile on her face. She barely missed a word and was an absolute joy to perform with. Those little moments make every mile worthwhile.

It was also great to catch up with Kevin, who simply loves music. Kevin has been to several of Michael's karaoke nights over the years, so it was lovely to see a familiar face and have another singalong together.

There was even a birthday to celebrate! Poor Tamara, one of the members of staff, tried her best to avoid being the centre of attention... but there was no escape! She took a full room singing Happy Birthday in great spirits. 🎂😂

🌧️🎶 It's Friday... and we all know what that means... Proper Job's Golden Oldies! 🎶🌧️

Well... whoever ordered this weather for June needs a word! 🌧️😂

It's been a bit of a rubbish week for Michael, so getting back out with Proper Job's Golden Oldies was exactly what he needed. Sometimes there really is no better tonic than putting on a colourful waistcoat, polishing the famous shiny purple shoes and... well... showing off for an hour! 😄

This video is just a little glimpse of today's soundcheck before everyone arrived. It's always nice to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what goes into a session.

The first stop of today's double header took Michael back to Trewartha Care Home in Carbis Bay. It's a place that holds plenty of memories, having spent many years DJing at the hotel there. More importantly though, it's where he married , so every visit to Carbis Bay is a special one.

Today's audience filled the lounge, and although they were a little more relaxed than on the last visit, they were listening to every word. Not every session has people dancing the conga around the room, and that's absolutely fine. Sometimes it's simply about sitting back, smiling, singing along and enjoying the music together.

The song of the day was undoubtedly Lonnie Donegan's My Old Man's a Dustman. The wonderfully awful jokes in the lyrics had the room laughing, proving that even decades later they're still just as daft... and just as funny! 😂

There was also time to celebrate Jean's birthday, with a chorus of Happy Birthday followed by a special rendition of Cheer Up Sleepy Jean, which raised plenty of smiles.

Today's outfit was the black shirt, cocktail waistcoat and, of course, those now-famous shiny purple shoes. They seem to be getting almost as much attention as Michael these days! 💜👞
