This HALLOWEEN we have HALLOWBEAN! From the 'pick of the fringe' Fladam Theatre! Join Flo and Adam with their spooktastic musical comedy on Sat 31 Oct, 2.30pm.

In the town of ‘Ghooul’ (not to be confused with ‘Goole’ in Yorkshire) Dr Frankenheinz is rustling up something special - the HALLOWBEAN!! The Dr hopes his tomatoey terror will dazzle SCARY Berry, the most frightful food critic of them all. The only problem is his eeny beany isn’t very scary. In fact, she’s downright lovable! Uh oh. Will Halloween have to be cancelled? Or can the Hallowbean find her scare in time?

Since its formation in 1972 the Brodsky Quartet has performed over 3000 concerts on the major stages of the world and released more than 60 recordings. A natural curiosity and insatiable desire to explore has propelled the group in many artistic directions and continues to ensure them, not only a place at the very forefront of the international chamber music scene, but also a rich and varied musical existence. Their energy and craftsmanship have attracted numerous awards and accolades worldwide, while ongoing educational work provides a vehicle for passing on experience and staying in touch with the next generation

BATTY! Is an alternative coming of age story. A story of a woman who fears she might be a witch. An ordinary woman stuck with an extraordinary shapeshifting companion, a wild thing. This curious twosome are in a disintegrating cottage in a forest on the cusp of another world that lies beyond responsibilities and social norms, and where myths and magic are real.

Written by Victoria Firth. Directed by Natasha Holmes, designed by Emma Williams, with an original soundscape and live song, it has the intimacy of private conversations, raucous stories, snorting humour, gay abandon and exquisite tenderness.

The piece explores the wildness - as opposed to madness - of women, and how our feral side can reconnect us to ourselves and our environment.

For women of a certain age the work speaks to menopause and coming elderhood and feedback from audiences really echoes this:

- Wow!! I haven’t laughed and cried so much in any other show - ever! This beautifully & skilfully written & performed show was just what I have been craving

- absolutely love it - I feel I found my tribe!

- Loved this show. So engaging and sparked our fascination. On leaving my friend described it as "a bit TOO relatable." Heartily recommend.
