Super excited to welcome The Yorkshire Gypsy Swing Collective to HAC - Sat 18 July, 7.30pm!

A gypsy jazz supergroup with musicians from all around Yorkshire playing music inspired from legendary musicians Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli of the‘Quintette du Hot Club de France’. The Collective remains in the spirit of Django and Stephane, while pushing the genre of‘gypsy jazz’ forward into a modern sphere.

The group consists of the traditional guitar(Lewis Kilvington and Martin Chung), double bass(James Munroe) and violin(Derek Magee) with additional clarinet(Christine Pinkard) and were recently featured in Guitarist magazine about Django Reinhardt legacy.

Expect some fast licks, burning ballads and even some Latin-inspired pieces.

The Sounds of Simon is a tribute to the wonderful music of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, through the years as Simon and Garfunkel, to the successes of both their solo careers. Explore the friendship that led to songs such as Mrs Robinson, The Sounds of Silence and of course, Bridge Over Troubled Water. The full band will also take you through the pair’s solo careers, with songs such as You Can Call Me Al, Graceland, and Art’s smash hit, Bright Eyes. Paul and Art are played to perfection, bringing in elements of their famously fractious relationship, as well as replicating the beautiful harmonies flawlessly.
