🌿 Some plants don't fit through the door... they become the door 😂

This giant beauty has officially taken over Poetry in Flowers and we're not even mad about it 😆

I nearly missed it... but look what my Alocasia Polly is doing! 😍🌿

That little creamy white structure isn't a new leaf .. it's actually a flower!

Alocasias are part of the aroid family (alongside Philodendrons, Monsteras and Anthuriums) and their flowers are made up of a spathe and spadix rather than traditional petals.. clever right?!

They're not grown for their blooms, which makes it feel even more special when one decides to flower 💪🏻👏🏻

Flowering is usually a sign that a plant is mature and happy in its environment, so I'm taking this as a compliment from the jungle 🥹💚

Now the big question... do you leave Alocasia flowers on to enjoy them, or cut them off so the plant puts all its energy back into the leaves? 👀

Every time I think we've got enough plants...

Something like this turns up 😍🌿

Honestly, I don't know how I'm supposed to choose a favourite when I've got Thai Constellations, Silver Dragons, variegated beauties and giant jungle leaves staring at me all day 😆

Anyway, I thought I'd give you a little tour of what's currently hanging out in the shop 👀

Some plants just have presence… and Alocasia Frydek Variegata is one of them 🌿🤍

Velvet leaves, creamy marbling and enough personality to keep you humble 😂

I love stocking plants that make people stop mid-scroll or mid-shop and go: “ooo what IS that?”

Lowdown:
• Bright indirect light
• Slightly moist soil
• Loves humidity
• Rewarding… but occasionally dramatic

Worth it? Absolutely.

Would you take one home? 👀✨
