First time trying this recipe as it was something I only came across recently while researching classic American desserts.
Buttermilk pie, I went slightly off original recipe by removing the nutmeg and putting lemon zest in to amp up the citrus twang.
Thing bastard son of tarte au citron and a gypsy tart and you’re getting somewhere close.
