We are so excited for our very first Wild Woodland Explorers home education session on Thursday, June 25th at the beautiful Scolton Manor!

To kick off our mixed-age group (ages 5–16), our structured activity for this session will be making our own charcoal! From learning how to safely manage the fire to the patience of the burn, the children will get a hands-on look at the ancient process of transforming raw wood into artist-ready charcoal sticks.

But true to the Forest School ethos, taking part is entirely optional.

Every child develops and explores at their own pace. If they want to dive into the charcoal making and tool use, we are here to guide them. If they prefer to spend their time building dens, creating in the mud kitchen, or simply enjoying a relaxed space to socialise and connect with other home-ed peers, that is completely okay! There is zero pressure to fit into a mould here.

Parents stay for the duration of the session, making it a wonderful, supportive community space for the whole family to connect.

🐛 Big Adventures for Little Explorers! 🐛

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome our littlest nature lovers to the woods for our very first Caterpillars toddler session!

📅 When: Tuesday, June 23rd at 1:00 PM
📍 Where: The beautiful woodlands at Scolton Manor

Our toddler sessions are completely child-led and centred around free play. There is no pressure and no rush, just a relaxed, gentle environment for your little ones to follow their own curiosity. Whether they want to dig in the mud kitchen, hunt for bugs, splash in puddles, or simply explore the textures of the woodland floor, they are free to learn and grow at their own unique pace.

To make our very first session extra special, we are taking part in the Barnardo's BIG TODDLE! 🐻💛

We will be going on a lovely, fun-filled woodland walk to help raise money for an incredible cause. It’s the perfect way for little legs to explore the trees, and every single child who takes part will receive a special medal to celebrate their achievement! 🏅

As with all of our sessions, parents stay for the entire duration, making it a wonderful, supportive space to enjoy the outdoors together and connect with other local families.

🚶‍♂️🌿 WE'RE TAKING PART IN THE BARNARDO'S BIG TODDLE! 🌿🚶‍♀️

We're delighted to be supporting Barnardo's by hosting a BIG Toddle at Scolton Manor on Tuesday 23rd June 2026!

Join us for an afternoon of fun, adventure and fundraising as we come together to help make a difference for children across the UK.

🚶 Big Toddle starts at 2:00pm

Before our toddle begins, children can enjoy woodland-inspired crafts, fun games and activities, making it a fantastic afternoon for the whole family.

Every child taking part will receive a medal to celebrate their achievement! 🏅

Whether you're a seasoned explorer or taking your very first toddle, we'd love for you to join us as we walk, play and raise money for an amazing cause.
