If 10-year-old me knew her future job would be shopping for a living, she’d have absolutely lost her mind.

Back then it was pocket-money trips to Claire’s. Now it’s sourcing stock, selecting ranges, and making purchasing decisions that actually make money — and honestly, it still feels just as exciting. It’s my daily dopamine hit… and I get paid for it.

But instead of splurging on shoes and bags I’d later regret, I’m buying stock that earns its keep. And it doesn’t stress me out, because with my business background, strong supplier relationships, and years of industry experience, every purchase is intentional, researched, and strategic.

Buying is genuinely one of my favourite parts of the job.

It’s a skill — one you learn, refine, and master over time. And there’s a reason the world’s biggest and most successful businesses have entire teams dedicated solely to buying: it’s that important, and that powerful.

Done well, it becomes one of the strongest tools you have in business.

This is, without a doubt, the WORST bridal bouquet I have ever made.

Every single flower was either bruised, overblown, or half-dead—desperately plucked from the dreaded “chuck-it bucket” in a last-minute panic. Why? Because I’d used all the good stuff to create showstopping centrepieces, dreamy bridesmaids’ bouquets, and a seven-tier floral cake masterpiece.
But completely forgot to make the bridal bouquet 😆

Now, in my defence, the bride had been… challenging. Endlessly changing her mind, criticising every decision, questioning all my choices—nothing was ever quite right and she wasn’t even paying full price.

But after two solid days of chaos, exhaustion, and floral magic, I had absolutely nothing left to give.

So I grabbed the best of the leftovers, fluffed them up, and marched down that aisle to marry the man of my dreams 😅💐
