Cold Sparks

Sorry, we do NOT allow cold spark machines to be operated on or near our Starlite Dance Floors.

The ‘cold spark’ effect is made by heating specialized titanium and zirconium alloy granules to roughly 600deg Fahrenheit (315 deg Centigrade) inside a unit, then using a fan to blow them into the air. As the particles interact with air, they glow, creating a firework-like effect.

These machines are known to throw out low level molten ‘clumps’ of powder that burn into the surface of a dance floor. Once this has happened the floor panel is permanently damaged.

For this reason we have no option other than to not allow these machines on our floors.
