Visitors to the Great Yorkshire Show have helped raise a record-breaking donation to charity!🎉🎉

Proceeds from this year's popular Cheese Auction total an amazing £12,502 and will be split between two charities, Samaritans and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

It's the largest amount ever raised by the Cheese Auction at the Show, thanks to a match-funding contribution by HSBC in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

This year’s fundraising means the Show’s Cheese Auction has now raised more than £62,000 for worthy causes over the years. Other recipients have included the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), Herriot Hospice Homecare and Addington Fund.

Farming never stops and our support of the industry doesn't either.

After organising and hosting the Great Yorkshire Show last month, we're busy arranging knowledge exchange and networking events, skills and wellbeing training, and lots more.

Today, we're backing a brilliant initiative by Farmers Guardian sponsored by Morrisons which tells the story of 24 hours in farming across social media.

Congratulations to our School Veg Box competition winners Marsden Junior School in Huddersfield! 🏆 🎉

The School Veg Box competition challenges primary schools across Yorkshire to grow healthy British produce from scratch every year and this year had Wonderful Worms as its theme. The finalist's veg boxes are displayed in the Discovery Zone at the Great Yorkshire Show, and the overall winner is announced during the Show.

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society is very grateful to the competition’s sponsors Wormganix, Mr Fothergill’s, Yorganics Compost, Pink Pig and Grow to School CIC.

Well done to all of our contributing schools - we loved seeing your creations! 👏

A huge thank you to our amazing stewards! They're part of the incredible team of over 350 volunteers who help make the Great Yorkshire Show such a fantastic event.

Many of them have been helping us for as long as we can remember, and we recently celebrated John Furness who worked his 50th Great Yorkshire Show this year. An incredible achievement and we can’t thank him enough for all that he has done for us.

Great Yorkshire Show Wedding! 💍

Last week, Peri Dunford and Mark Jones tied the knot in the Forestry section, after getting engaged at the Show last year. Mark and Peri are very much part of the Great Yorkshire Show, with Mark taking part in the Pole Climbing competitions and Peri demonstrating horse logging.

It was a wonderful celebration of love and forestry! We wish them both a lifetime of happiness. 🌳💒

Wow what a Show!!! We've had a fabulous 4 days here at the Great Yorkshire Show and we hope you enjoyed your visit 😍 😍 😍

The finale of the Show saw champions names in the Grand Cattle Parade and the Blythewood Beef Pairs as well as in honey, pigeon and farriers.

A big thank you to all involved with the Show ...... that's what makes it GREAT!

Gates for the final day of the Great Yorkshire Show are now open!

☀️☀️It's going to be a hot one today folks and the health and welfare of people and animals is paramount, we ask exhibitors and visitors to stay safe in the hot weather:

✔️ Bring a water bottle - there are drinking water refill points around the Show
✔️ Bring sun cream & wear a hat
✔️ Make the most of shady spots (such as the Food Hall & other buildings/marquees)
✔️ There is plenty of water & shade for the animals in sheds & pens
✔️ There is access to vets and medics 24hrs a day

Ripon Select Foods C**k O' the North winner went to...William Whitaker on Millfield Quickstep! 🏇 Meanwhile, Matt Baker met young handlers in the pig rings and headed to the Ariat Europe GYS stage for a chat show with Christine Talbot.
