Carley & Chris 🤍

This one was such a good day.

Aldborough Church, a marquee in the garden of Carley’s family home, an abundance of beautiful flowers and a brass band playing into the evening… what’s not to love?

Carley’s bouquet was full of gorgeous pink garden roses and peonies, with that soft, romantic, slightly undone look that I love. Outside the church, we created a floral arch around the doorway, bringing the flowers into the setting without taking away from the beautiful old church itself.

Then back to the family home for the celebrations and the brilliant Back Chat Brass, who brought SO much energy to the day. 🎺

A really beautiful wedding, but more importantly, one that felt completely personal to Carley and Chris. And those are always my favourite.

There’s something pretty special about creating a wired cascading bouquet.

At first glance, it can look effortless flowers falling naturally, with movement and flow in every direction. But there’s a huge amount of technique behind creating that shape.

Each individual flower and piece of foliage is wired and positioned by hand, building the bouquet piece by piece to create the right balance, movement and overall silhouette. It takes patience, precision and a really good understanding of how flowers behave.

It’s also a technique that isn’t taught as widely as it once was, which makes being able to create a bouquet like this a particularly special skill to have as a florist. It’s one of those traditional floristry techniques that I really love keeping alive.

For Caroline, I wanted the finished bouquet to feel abundant and beautifully natural, with that lovely cascading movement while knowing that every element had been carefully constructed by hand.

A little reminder that sometimes the most effortless looking designs are the ones that take the most skill to create.

The most rewarding… and slightly nerve-wracking moment. 🤍

There’s something about handing a bride her bouquet that never gets old.

I’ve spent hours choosing the flowers, conditioning them, designing every little detail and making sure it’s just right…

…and then comes the moment I hand it over and think, please let her love it! 😂

That little look, the smile, the hug honestly, it’s one of my favourite parts of the whole job.

These are a few photos that brides have sent me of that moment, and I absolutely love them. They’re not polished or posed, but they capture something much more special the moment they see their flowers for the very first time.

Having worked on hundreds of weddings, I’m still nervous every single time. 🥹

A beautiful day filled with soft, romantic flowers in shades of white, blush pink and fresh green at the gorgeous Goldsborough Hall.

Their ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Goldsborough was framed by a beautiful broken floral arch, filled with Playa Blanca roses, Quicksand roses, white stocks, white and green hydrangeas and trailing amaranthus.

Alongside the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids’ flowers and buttonholes, two floral pedestal arrangements completed the church styling.

And one of my favourite parts of the day? Seeing those flowers live on beyond the ceremony. The broken arch and pedestal arrangements were carefully moved from the church to Goldsborough Hall, where they became part of the wedding breakfast styling.

The tables were finished with delicate bud vases filled with roses, candles and soft cheesecloth napkins simple, romantic and perfectly suited to the beautiful setting.

A gorgeous Yorkshire wedding for a lovely couple, and a reminder that your ceremony flowers don’t have to be enjoyed for just one part of the day. 🤍

It’s been a busy one, but a very good one. ✨

And there’s absolutely no chance of slowing down yet wedding season is still in full swing and I’ve got lots of gorgeous autumn weddings to look forward to.

I’m ready for the autumn colours, cosy knitwear, crisp mornings… and possibly most exciting of all, BACK TO SCHOOL. 😂🙌🏻
