What a weekend! This climatic "Swamp Battle" finale has been in the works for over half a year. Between writing, terrain building, painting, scheduling, and finding a venue it was a lot of work. But I think the results speak for themselves! Huge thanks to my players for getting stuck in and in particular to Josh for all his work on the miniatures and terrain.

Dungeons & Dragons is one of my greatest passions and it has been awesome meeting so many new people and sharing this amazing game with you all. That said, D&D is not my only passion and as many of you know I have recently secured a role working as a Zookeeper as I have always dreamed.

I have tried to do both but as you can tell from the huge hiatus in posts I have found myself with less and less time and have had to step away from more and more games. With care of our animals and construction of our zoo demanding so much of my time I have made the decision to suspend my Professional DMing and as of August 8th I will no longer be running games.

It has been a pleasure to play with you guys and I will take many fantastic memories, experiences, and new skills away from our sessions. Perhaps I shall return to it in the future when everything is a little less busy but for now... I have dragons of a different kind to deal with.

When I was 7 years old my parents took me on holiday to Lanzarote where we visited the beautiful Timanfaya National Park, an expanse of brick-red rocky ashlands nestled amongst tall sleeping volcanoes. Here we visited a rather unsleepy volcano where 7 year old Nathan thought it would be a great idea to stick his hand into an active vent to scoop up a handful of volcanic rock. Luckily, I was only scolded by a tour guide rather than scalded.

Smash cut to about 20 years later and whilst cleaning out the attic my parents found a tiny suitcase stuffed in the corner. Opening it we found clothes for warm weather I had long since outgrown and wrapped up in them like contraband, an old water bottle filled with brick red stones. Immediately inspired by their rediscovery I contacted my good friend Fran from Tief's Things and a plan was forged...

I could not be happier with the results which arrived to me today! Now when I know I need to roll hot, I'll have the perfect set of dice to do so. They even glow in the dark!

On saturday night, Nathan had the pleasure of running a devilishly delightful wedding themed One Shot set in The Nine Hells. For the evening the players assumed the roles of the Lords and Ladies of The Nine Hells and at the behest of Asmodeus himself, competed for the hand of his daughter. Along the way they had to deal with enchanted chests, terrifying traps, and most insidious of all, shots of raw vegetable juice.

This night of hellish hijinks was commissioned as a joint hen/stag do to celebrate the upcoming wedding of Katie and Luke, both of whom are avid tabletop gamers as well as players in one of Nathan's longest running campaigns. A huge thank you and congratulations to the happy couple and another huge thank you to their cohort of fiendish friends who fully got into the infernal spirit and went all out!

This Easter Sunday, Nathan grabbed his dice, his sheets, and his silver sword, before traveling the path down to the LongRest Boardgame Bar and Cafe. There he lead players, Lauren, Dave, Steve, and the wonderful owners of the cafe, Dani and Adam, through a Character Creation session of The Witcher TRPG!
