We are inviting a few couples each year to have a lakeside wedding reception in the enchanting Wild Garden, a private venue deep in the middle of 850 acres of tranquil woods and countryside but only an hour from London. We have loved and managed the woodlands, farm, lakes and 1840's house, and planted the Wild Garden with its stunning carpets of spring flowers, huge redwood trees and autumn colour
, and its trickling stream. As you will see, the Wild Garden is stunning and romantic at any time of year, whether it is covered in delicate bell heather, daffodils, or the jaw-droppingly beautiful blossoms that few places can match. First created for the children of the family to have their weddings in, the Wild Garden wedding shore was the site of two blissfully happy receptions of our own. Having enjoyed the garden so much for so many years, we would now like to offer you the opportunity to share in its history. We understand that every wedding is different, and this peaceful, beautiful place can be the perfect backdrop for your special day. Turn in along a winding drive, among the ancient trees of a private estate where deer roam. Discover our gardens, picturesque in their natural beauty, and then imagine personalising the space to your exact requirements. You can make all your own choices - no commercial packages here - so, whether formal or shabby-chic, you can create a truly individual dream wedding. The site itself is tailor-made to provide you with all the practical requirements you will need, without limiting your options. A forty-vehicle hard standing car park sits next to the site, with easy access for generators, portable loos, and other wheeled facilities. A wheelchair-suitable ramp and path provide access to an area under the trees with room for any size and style of marquee up to 100ft, with a gently sloping lawn down to the lake shore. A small wood-chipped path leads down to a gate into the private garden itself, where you can wander to your heart’s content. There are a wealth of photo opportunities - a double swing, a Monet-style bridge, a flowered wedding arch. You will feel as if it is your own private garden...
