Hiya folks, apologies for the late posting of these, its been a hectic few days! But we've actually got a whole week without any gigs this week and can operate as normal!! ✨️

Over the weekend I'll be open my usual hours so there is plenty of time to come on down, have a blast and check out some of the new stuff before anyone else!!

🔞 AFTER HOURS SESSIONS 🔞

Hiya folks, this is something a load of people have been asking about recently and it's finally here! Blast from the Past presents over 18 nights!! With the first taking place this Friday July 18th!

On these evenings you can come on down and enjoy the arcade after hours in an adults only environment, limited to only 15 people and just £10 a ticket for 2 hours of pure childhood joy!

I'm also relaxing the rules a bit on these nights, you can bring your own drinks along (alcoholic or not), you can order some food from local takeaways if you want and I'll even be digging out some of my more 18+ games and oddities for these evenings too!

There's a few small rules so that everyone can enjoy themselves listed below:

🛰 Alcoholic drinks are limited to either 6x cans of beer or premixed cans or 1 bottle of wine per person booked in!

🛰 We will need to check ID on the door so if your fortunate enough to look under 25 then please do be sure to bring it!

Hiya folks, here's my opening times for this week with the early closures at 4pm due to the Piece Hall gigs highlighted in blue!

There's a whole weekend free of gigs this week so I'll be here till 8pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday for all the nostalgic fun you can handle! This also means I can fit anyone in for private hire at anytime that is suitable for you over this weekend too, just pop me a message if you're interested in private hire at all!

I've got lots happening behind the scenes at the moment! Everyone here is working as hard as we can to perfect all our machine and get them all playing amazingly to provide you with the best possible experience that we always strive to bring you! There will be updates on all this soon!

💥THIS WEEKS OPENING TIMES💥

Hiya folks, apologies for the late posting of these! But here's my opening times for this week, with the early closures due to the Piece Hall gigs highlighted in blue!

It's not too bad this week with only 2 days closing early. But even last week I had 2 days in a row with no customers at all, and my takings for last week were down by about 60% compared to previous weeks! So if you're able to make it down to the arcade at all, your support would be hugely appreciated during these times!

I've also got plenty of space available for private hire of the venue! Your own private arcade for any event at all! You choose the consoles, games, music and bring anything you'd like to make it a proper party! Just pop me a message if you're interested in booking private hire of the arcade and I'll get everything sorted out for you!

💥4PM CLOSURES DUE TO GIG SEASON💥

Hiya folks, it's that time of year again down here at the beautiful Piece Hall, where we prepare for some of the world's best musical artist to visit our wonderful town!

This does however mean a lot of early closures at 4pm instead of 8pm over the next 3 months while this is all happening, totalling me being closed for the equivalent of nearly 4 weeks of trade! I've posted the dates I'll have to close up early below and will be posting my opening times every week while the gig season is here.

This is a time where I really really need your support more than ever please! Contrary to popular belief the gig season at The Piece Hall doesn't benefit all the businesses here and actually has an extremely negative effect on a lot of the business within these walls, especially the ones that are usually open a lot later in the evening!

With me having to close up before I even get halfway into my day, not being able to book in private hire parties on a lot of high profile days throughout summer, having varied opening time during the school summer holidays, customers feeling rushed out and a lot of other factors, all while paying the same rent really puts a huge strain on an already struggling business and for the past 2 years I've made huge losses throughout gig season and summer, a time that should be my busiest time of year!

I'll be having loads of special things happening over the summer to try and help stimulate trade including the return of our awesome giant scalextric track from Christmas, new consoles/computers to cycle though, introduction of over 18s nights, new board game area, new seating and a whole lot more!!

But just to sum up the point of this post, throughout summer, which should be my busiest period, is actually the slowest and most worrying time for me and many others who have businesses here.

I don't want to come across like I'm just moaning about this, I have tried my darned hardest to make my business work during these constraints for the past 2 years. I really love The Piece Hall and think the gig season here is absolutely amazing, it's so incredible what is does for our wonderful town and to be able to be right next to it all happening is so cool! It's just a shame that it might be the final nail for the arcade this year!

So, if there is anything at all I can do that will help you to be able to visit, make it easier for you to get here or even just entice you to come on down then please, please do let me know in the comments below or in a message as your support right now is absolutely integral to Blast from the Past's survival and future!

💥Early Closing Today💥

Hiya folks, I'm away from Halifax for a few days until this Friday (May 9th) so unfortunately I won't be running the arcade myself till this weekend.

However, I've left you all in the wonderful hands of our very own Ashleigh, who will be looking after you all for me until I'm back! If you're a regular to the arcade I'm sure you'll already know Ashleigh well!

This does mean that today the arcade will close at 6pm instead of the usual 8pm, I do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause!

But the arcade will be open it's usual opening times for the rest of the week and I'll be back just in time for the weekend! 🚀 ✨️

💥VE DAY SPECIAL💥

Hiya everyone, my VE day special has been in full swing this weekend along with all the amazing festivities going on at The Piece Hall! It's been such a popular weekend I've decided to keep our VE special running all this week up to Sunday May 11th! ✨️

🎖You can come on down and join the Air Force and shoot down incoming enemy planes in Capcom's awesome arcade game '1942'!

🎖Why not go up against a friend in a 1v1 tank battle on Atari's 'Combat' and see who comes out victorious!

🎖In the living room this week I've set up the Atari Jaguar with ID Software's classic game 'Wolfenstein 3D' for some good old (much needed) N**i bashing action!

There's all this and more happening this week down here at Blast from the Past! I'm open until 6pm today and will be back open on Wednesday for another week of classic gaming fun!

💥Alien Day Celebration💥

Hiya folks, so today is Alien day!! Alien Day is celebrated yearly on 26/04 as a reference to LV-426, the name of the moon where the Xenomorphs were first discovered in the original '1979' film!

As a little celebration from now until May 3rd I've added an Aliens display to the living room cabinet, featuring the iconic Pulse Rifle, Ripley's Reebok Stompers and a few figures and extra bits! I also have Alien 3 out on the Mega Dive ready to play, an awesome behind the scenes coffee table book about the making of Aliens and I'll be showing the films themselves in the living room during the evening over the next week!

So, if you love the Alien franchise then definitely pop in this week to check out what's going on! 👽

💥Titanic Anniversary Display💥

Hey folks, so this might seem like a strange one but this is just another one of my passions in life that I'd like to share with you all and I'm sure a bunch of you will appreciate it!

Yesterday marked 113 years since one of the most beautiful ocean liners built, the RMS Titanic, foundered on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York taking over 1500 lives of the 2200 passengers on board that night.

This year also marks 40 years since Dr Robert Ballard discovered the wreck, which had been lost for 73 years!

So, from April 15th to April 21st I'll have a display of my Titanic bits & bobs in the living room cabinet! From collectables and replica documents to incredible artwork books and my original 113 year old newspaper about the disaster. It's a little treat for anyone who loves Titanic!
I'll also be showing the 1958 film "A Night To Remember" and news footage from the discovery of the wreck playing in my 80s livingroom!

P.s- The living room cabinet will now be used for different displays throughout the year, the next display after this will be for Aliens day on April 26th!
