Find us at Sotterley this weekend!

🤍 This Sunday! (And the 23rd!) 🤍

Snowdrops at Sotterley - a walk around the open gardens, lake and church to take in the early spring flowers and remind ourselves that spring is on the way!

This is a fund raising event for St Margaret’s church. £5 on the gate and under 16s go free. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

There will be activities in the church for the kiddies, including a scavenger hunt!
coffee will be supplying us with hot drinks, and delicious hot dogs by the Flying Chef, and delicious cakes by the Mixing Bowl!

Please bring cash and sensible footwear

Gates open from 11am to 3pm

Come on down to the Grain Gravity Race today - we'll be sizzling and serving from 12 noon!

We’ll be closing the brewery for Christmas today at 3pm, but will be back on Friday 27th, with the Taproom opening for the Grain Gravity Race!

There has been so much excitement in the village over the last few weeks building up to this, and many discussions over the best designs and strategies, and Friday is the day to see the results.

Grain’s own ‘Barrel of Laughs’ will be entering and is nearing completion, and has been built (almost) entirely from scraps found at the brewery. I don’t think it’s a winner and I’ll be pleased if it makes it to the start line, let alone the finish line. I am, however, concerned that the first question often asked by those who have seen it during construction is ‘have you got a crash helmet?’.

If you don’t know, it’s a downhill distance challenge where the only power is gravity and vehicles must be no more than 5% non-wood construction.

12pm at the brewery to see the entrants and last minute tinkering.
2pm at the Low Ditch Road cross road for the start of the distance challenge.

Drinks and food (Flying Chef) at the brewery 12 until 7.

Big hurrahs for Belgian Bert for masterminding what looks to be an exhilarating and nail-biting and insurance-voiding event.
