✨ THE MAGIC OF IMAGINATIVE PLAY ✨

“It’s just a cardboard box.”

To a little one… it could be a rocket ship. 🚀

A blanket can become a castle. 🏰
A teddy can become a poorly patient. 🧸
A chair can become a bus. 🚌
A saucepan can become a drum. 🥁
And a few cushions can become a whole new world. 🌎

💭 Imaginative play is so much more than pretending.

When children use their imagination, they’re developing:

🗣️ Language & communication – creating stories, conversations and new ideas.

🧠 Problem-solving – working out how to make their ideas happen.

❤️ Emotional development – exploring feelings and making sense of the world around them.

🤝 Social skills – learning to play alongside others, take turns and share ideas.

🎨 Creativity – thinking beyond what something is and imagining what it could be.

And the best part?

You don’t need lots of expensive toys.

Sometimes less is more. Give them a box, a teddy, a blanket and some time… and watch their imagination take over. 🥹❤️

So next time your little one asks you to sit in their “restaurant” for the 10th time, remember…

🌱 A LITTLE REMINDER FOR MUMS… 🌱

Sometimes it can feel like your little one isn’t doing much when they’re simply playing.

But that play is actually so much more than play. 🥰

🧸 When they build with blocks — they’re developing problem-solving, coordination and early maths skills.

🎨 When they make marks — they’re developing fine motor skills, creativity and learning that their actions create an effect.

🚗 When they push cars around — they’re exploring movement, cause and effect and using their imagination.

👶 When they play alongside another child — they’re beginning to develop social skills, communication and an understanding of sharing space.

🎵 When they sing and dance — they’re developing language, memory, rhythm and physical coordination.

💭 When they pretend — they’re building imagination, language and understanding of the world around them.

And perhaps most importantly…

❤️ When you sit and play with them, you’re building connection.

You don’t need expensive toys, Pinterest-perfect activities or hours of structured learning.

Sometimes the best thing you can give your little one is your time, your attention and the freedom to explore.

So if today all you managed was playing with a teddy, pushing some cars around the floor or singing the same song for the 47th time…

You did enough. 🥹❤️

A BIG hello and thank you to all my new followers! 🥹🤍✨

I thought it was probably time for a little re-introduction…

I’m Zoe, the face behind Little Elodie’s Play Co 👋🏼 I’m a mum to my little girl Elodie, who is also my chief tester, and I’m the one behind all the soft play, planning, cleaning, setting up, packing away… basically everything! 😂🧸

What started as a little idea has grown into something I absolutely love. From soft play hire and party setups, to our Little Elodie’s Tiny Explorers Stay & Play, I’m so lucky to create fun, welcoming spaces for little ones and their grown-ups. 🌈✨
