TEN YEARS AGO TODAY, I supported my first couple at Abbey House, worked with reindeer for the first time, worked with 'the other man in red' for the first time and worked alongside the experience and talent that was - and very much still is - Steve Hillman Wedding Photography. Since that day, Steve and I have worked together on a great many weddings and become great friends, through good times and bad. Keep up the great work, Steve Hillman!
Could I also thank the Abbey House teams and the suppliers I've worked alongside there, over the last decade; thanks for the support and friendship.
Incidentally, there was no present for me from Santa, hence the look on my face.

FIRST TIME VISIT. Last Sunday I visited The Dunes for the very first time and, supported by Louise Williams, took part in the hotel’s Wedding Showcase. During the afternoon I met some fabulous couples and picked up a few promising enquiries. I also worked alongside some great wedding suppliers. Special thanks to Charlotte and Robbie Gaffney for their warm welcome and the hospitality extended to Louise and myself.

After supporting a couple on their big day at Abbey House tomorrow (more info to follow), I'll be back there on Sunday for the Autumn Wedding Open Day (11am-2pm). Exhibiting alongside some superb fellow wedding suppliers, including Steve Hillman Wedding Photography & A Scott Newton Film idroneit Productions, I'll be in the Great Hall, looking forward to chatting to couples about how I can support them before and during their very special day. And the 'selfie' - well for me a photograph, at the end of my working day, with a happy, smiling, relaxed couple, indicates a satisfied client and a job well done! BIRTHDAY FUNDRAISER, BIRTHDAY THANK YOU. On Tuesday (19 August), to mark my 75th birthday, I donated £75 into my 25in25 fundraising appeal, in support of The Brain Tumour Charity. My appeal’s been running since January 2022; the original plan being that I would put a £22 fee contribution - from each event I hosted, wedding I supported, celebration of life I delivered – into my appeal, under the banner 22in22, the target being to raise £1000 by the end of 2022. However, I’m glad to say my appeal caught the imagination of family, friends, clients, guests & business colleagues and my ‘one year appeal’ is still going strong. Thanks to the amazing encouragement and generosity of those who have supported me, alongside my fee contributions - which increased to reflect the year: 23in23, 24in24, my 25in25 fundraising appeal currently stands at £12,616. A massive THANK YOU to those who have donated. Along the way, I’ve been privileged to chat to people about their family/friend’s experiences of brain tumours, as well as spreading the word that much greater Government funding is needed for brain tumour research - brain tumours being the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40.
