After all the amazing weather, we had to adapt today's bbq celebrating a ruby wedding for nearly 100 guests! We cooked all the meat at HQ then transported it in thermo boxes ready to go in the chafers! We'll always find a way!

Burgers, minted lamb, lemon chicken & salmon were followed by massive pavlova slabs, malteser cheesecakes & my favourite - tiramisu!

Despite the wind & rain, the DJ spun his tunes, the wine was flowing & there was plenty of laughter! Congratulations on 40 years married! 🥂

Last night I was asked if I could put a picnic together for a couple that needed a lift. Luckily I was baking at the barn café this morning so I could! It's always worth an ask if it's last minute - if I can I will!

A few days rest & admin catch up before another busy run! Saturday a bbq for nearly 100 celebrating a ruby wedding, then next week, a funeral for 100 & two weddings!

What a weekend! I don't tend to do Sundays much any more, but today's golden wedding was booked a year ago & I couldn't say no! It was missing out on events like this that made me cut back on weddings. It took me an hour to set up a mix of fork & finger food which included poached salmon with a lemon & dill creme fraiche, roast beef & watercress, quiches, chicken satay, chocolate orange cheesecake, trifle & profiteroles! I made some separate quiche & puds for the gluten free guests so hopefully there'll be lots of full bellies this evening!

A funeral tea delivered to my café today - The Laurel is available for up to 60 people & The Laurel at Bates Green here on the farm is available for 100+!

Back at HQ tomorrow to prepare a golden wedding for Sunday - things are getting busier & busier, so don't leave it too late to secure that date! 🌻

Kerry unknowingly entered Tyler into the Eastbourne Business Awards & he is a finalist in the Outstanding Young Achiever / Apprenticeship Award!

Winners are announced in October, but regardless, this is quite an achievement & I'm very proud of my first student! 🩷

A beautiful wedding at a beautiful venue! A family style menu of panang curry, salmon & Italian chicken followed by white chocolate & raspberry cheesecake, profiteroles and fresh fruit. I had a new team helping Suzy & they smashed it even though it was a tad warm!
