This morning Tyler made a gluten free Victoria sponge, ginger cake, cheese & fruit scones and sausage rolls for The Laurel at Bates Green by 10am whilst I was waylaid! 👏

It's amazing how much he can do when I'm not there to distract him! 😂

We have our first wedding tea party in the barn on Wednesday - looking forward to that! 🥂

You don't need to order a full buffet! Today's lunch included quiche ( stilton mushroom & cheesy asparagus), watermelon feta salad, apple fennel slaw, heritage tomato & mozzarella salad, then a white chocolate & raspberry cheesecake for pud! Perfect heatwave food! ☀️

What a day! Today's business lunch included celeriac slaw, quail scotch eggs, sweet chilli chicken, Cypriot potato salad, charcuterie, ham, samosas, yorkshire puds, French bread, cheese & fruit! Keeps the directors happy! 🍉

Then a wedding tasting for a late wedding booking in July! They'll be having bbq & dessert boards of cheesecake, profiteroles & Eton mess and celebrating at Eridge village hall! 🥂❤️

So today was a surprise! I was asked to do a tea party reception at the Charleston festival, not realising it was following a talk & book signing by Jennifer Saunders about the Magic Faraway Tree movie!

What an amazing place! Lots going on in a beautiful tranquil estate, full of families with picnics, children climbing trees, arts & crafts and more!

It was 'absolutely fabulous'!

I've spent this week boosting my baking interest & actually get excited about trying new things again! Running a small business is all about pivoting to keep up with trends & customer demand. Before things get busy next week, I've been building a line of cream cakes for the café including these cute cupcake cones, mini gateaux & dirty croissants! So fresh & light without the richness of buttercream! Thanks to Kerry taking on so much of my administrative responsibilities, I have more time to do the things I love! Onwards & upwards! 🩷

It's the last weekend of the Arlington Bluebell Walk & Farm Trail with the Canine Partners! Our Ruth supports this charity & has been at the event for years! She now works at the café here the rest of the year & has become an invaluable part of the BTF family! As always, I have made gluten free & vegan cakes for the weekend along with sausage rolls, fruit & cheese scones!
