So Father's Day came & went due to having two weddings last week - just not enough time! The next few weeks I'm covering holiday at The Laurel at Bates Green so there won't be much except cake making going on!

However, after that, there's a 90th birthday, a 65th wedding anniversary & more weddings coming up!

Something new for us yesterday at Gildredge Manor! Instead of one large grazing table, our couple had individual grazes on each table! A great mix from katsu chicken & pesto parmesan pasta to malteser cheesecakes & brownies!

Now this was our last wedding at this wonderful venue, purely because of my decision to scale back the full day weddings for the sake of my health. Don't panic, I'm staying in the wedding game, just the less physically demanding ones!

I'd like to thank Mark, Emma & Jackie for having me over the last 4.5 years - the nicest people with the most beautiful venue! It's been a privilege! 🩷

Yesterday was epic! 15 hours of food prep & service at Gildredge Manor - canapés, afternoon tea then a bbq! The team worked exceptionally hard, especially as the venue has about 17k stairs 😂. Congratulations to H&L! 🥂

We're back there tomorrow! 🙈

Last night our week of dinner parties ended at Pekes Manor celebrating a double 60th! 🥳 The menu included tomato bruschetta, roast beef & malteser cheesecake - washed down with a LOT of booze! These girls knew how to have fun! 🍸

Last night we were back at Old Glebe Waldron, where we provided an indoor bbq (a bit windy & chilly!) including rump steaks, chicken chorizo kebabs & buttered mushroom skewers with sesame & balsamic. Salads included Cypriot potato salad, cabbage & celeriac slaw & iceberg wedges with blue cheese dressing. THEN....pavlovas loaded with famous strawberries! One of the farmer guests provides all the strawberries to Wimbledon so there was no question that I'd be using them & boy, they were amazing!

Amazing couple of days - there was also a guest speaker - Antony Penrose, son of Lee Miller, from nearby Chiddingly, the famous WW2 war correspondent, recently depicted by Kate Winslet in the movie Lee!

The evening was topped off by the generous gesture of a luxury glass of sparkling rose from Rathfinny Estate!

A dinner party for farmers at Old Glebe Waldron tonight! Canapés included my new baby jacket potatoes with cream cheese & dill, followed by beef bourginon with hasselback potatoes then a proper banoffee with pastry!

Lots of baking yesterday! A reunion party of the staff from Hellingly Asylum celebrated at the Hellingly Community Hub with a big buffet which included my spanakopita spring rolls, yorkshire puds with rare steak & horseradish and a selection of cakes!

A week of holiday let's coming up, with two days at Old Glebe Waldron & one at Pekes Manor!
