This post isn’t about criticising supermarket cakes; it’s meant to highlight that you can’t compare them to professional cakes. They are fundamentally different.

Keep in mind that when you purchase a bespoke cake, you’re not just buying a dessert; you’re investing in skills, knowledge and you are getting an experience featuring a delicious cake and exceptional customer service.

I understand my prices might not fit everyone’s budget. I can't compete with retailers mass-producing cakes for £15 each.
I use real butter and quality ingredients to bake with (while strictly adhering to all allergen and safety regulations) and have overheads to pay.

As has stated, it’s also concerning that supermarkets are replicating original ideas from other businesses. Bertha from , anything Dubai inspired and now heart shaped cakes with piping detail - a style that could be a bakery’s niche is now widely assessable.
