Always feels surreal waking up the day after the events 🥹

We loved seeing so many of you yesterday and thank you for all the kind messages in our inbox last night it’s really appreciated.

Massive thank you to all our volunteers across three events, collecting, sorting and all the organisations that were drop offs we literally couldn’t do it without you.

A big thank you post will be coming 🫶

We always get an influx of messages after the event asking what’s left over, we need some time to move, organise and work out what we have left so we will be in touch with all those that have messaged in due course.

Tonight we need sleep 🤣😅🧡

The funding is vital for these events, over 1000 families helped and it won’t stop just yet. Requests will follow for people who are still in need and we will help when and where we can. Thank you to everyone who attended any of the events, liked, shared, commented and told friends and families. There is nothing better than meeting you all at the events ❤️

It was great to visit the School Uniform Swap at Grimsby Central Hall today and see first-hand where money from the Crisis and Resilience Fund is making a real difference.

After a long process, I was pleased to give the necessary sign-off from my side so our officers could get on with helping community organisations and projects like this access the support available.

And today showed exactly why that matters.

I met Angel and Kelly, who organise the School Uniform Swap, and the work they are doing is fantastic.

The funding has helped them:

* Use larger venues, making the events accessible to more families
* Purchase equipment to properly display and organise clothing
* Provide other practical items needed to run a successful event
* Ultimately help more local families at a time when household budgets are under real pressure

More than 350 people came through the doors today alone.

A massive well done also has to go to Nick Middleton at North East Lincolnshire Council.

Angel and Kelly could not speak highly enough of the support Nick gave them throughout the application process. From helping them understand what was required to guiding them through the paperwork, his support clearly made a real difference.

This is exactly what I want to see from the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

Council funding reaching local organisations.

Officers working alongside our community.

And practical support getting directly to the people who need it.

A huge well done to Angel, Kelly, Nick and everybody involved in making today happen. 👏
