Lead florist Jane is here to defend one of the most underrated blooms in wedding floristry, and she’s not taking any nonsense. 😄

While some couples are swiping left on carnations thinking they’re “a bit dated,” Jane is over here gently (but firmly) saying, you’re missing out.

Her favourites?
🤍 White carnations. Cloud-soft, beautifully ruffled, and far more elegant than they’ve ever been given credit for.
She loves their texture, their fullness, and that nostalgic scent that instantly fills a room.

💜 And then there’s true lilac tones. Delicate, romantic, and the perfect way to soften a palette without overpowering it

Meet Jane, the heart behind Crosskills Florist 🌸

Many of you know Jane as the friendly face behind Crosskills Florist, but we thought it was time to share a little more about the wonderful lady who pours her heart into everything we do.

Jane’s love of flowers started long before she stepped through the doors of Crosskills. As a Brownie, she earned her flower arranging badge and from that moment, something special blossomed.

At just 15 years old, she joined Crosskills as a Saturday girl, sweeping floors, conditioning flowers and falling completely in love with the beautiful world of floristry.

Life took a few twists and turns, and as a single parent, Jane knew one thing for certain. Flowers were where her heart belonged. So she returned to Crosskills and eventually bought the business herself. 💪🏻

Nineteen years later, Jane is the proud Owner and Lead Florist of Crosskills Florist, continuing a legacy that means everything to her. While she may not have been born into the Crosskill family, the shop’s history truly runs through her veins.

Outside of the flower shop, Jane loves

🍸 Trying new gins
💃 Dancing and socialising
🏊 Swimming
🌿 Gardening, both at work and at home
🎶 and Kylie Minogue, so you can definitely expect some Kylie classics making an appearance!

Those who know Jane best would describe her as someone with a big heart, a great sense of humour and an incredible ability to find a way through any challenge.

Her outlook on life is simple,

“It doesn’t matter what life throws at me, there’s never a problem, only ever a solution.”

It feels fitting that someone so caring and compassionate found their calling in floristry. Jane truly lives and breathes flowers, just ask her granddaughter, who affectionately calls her “Nannie Flowers”. 🥹

For Jane, floristry has never just been a job. It’s been a lifelong passion, a privilege and a way of helping people celebrate life’s happiest moments and find comfort during the difficult ones.

A second glimpse into Eve and Lewis’s effortlessly elegant day 🤍

From the very beginning, Eve’s vision was clear. Timeless, romantic, and beautifully understated. Her bouquet reflected that perfectly, with soft white and ivory roses arranged into a classic dome shape, finished with an ivory ribbon for a classic finishing touch.

There was something truly special in the air that morning. Every moment felt meaningful, especially as it was all captured by James & Merika of "James Green Studio", a photographer Eve had admired for years. Having him there felt like a full-circle moment, adding even more sentiment to the day.

Surrounded by a dream team, the morning unfolded with such calm and joy. Hair by Mirror Mirror - Lash & Blowdry Bar, makeup by Natalie Jones Bridal, and styling by Love in the limelight all came together seamlessly. Lewis looked the part in his suit from CoatesCouturebridal!

From the beautiful ceremony at St Giles Church to the celebrations at Stallingborough Grange Hotel, the entire day felt refined, heartfelt, and completely timeless.

A truly timeless celebration for a beautiful couple. Eve’s vision was classic romance in every detail, and the florals were designed to complement that perfectly. A soft, refined palette of white and ivory roses created a domed bridal bouquet, finished with ivory ribbon for that effortless, graceful movement.

The morning was filled with emotion and magic, beautifully captured by photographer James & Merika of "James Green Studio". Eve shared how much joy and nostalgia she felt, having admired his work since her younger days at Proposals Bridal Room limited, a full-circle moment that made the day even more special.

She was surrounded by an incredible team,
Hair by Mirror Mirror - Lash & Blowdry Bar, where Emma-Jayne helped create a bridal morning full of magic. Makeup by Natalie Jones Bridal and venue styling by Love in the limelight. Lewis’s suit hire was by CoatesCouturebridal.

From the aisle at St Giles Church to the celebrations at Stallingborough Grange Hotel, every moment felt elegant, emotional, and completely timeless, just like Eve and Lewis themselves.

What a glorious Bank Holiday Sunday it was to celebrate the wedding of Rich & Sam ☀️✨

For their wedding flowers, they chose a timeless combination of rich red roses nestled amongst delicate gypsophila, creating a beautifully romantic look for their special day 🌹🤍

The buttonholes were designed to match perfectly, tying everything together with classic elegance ❤️

It was a pleasure to create these flowers and be a small part of such a wonderful celebration. We wish Rich & Sam a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness together 🥂✨

A bouquet full of meaning 💙

I’ve known Jordan since she was a little girl, so it was incredibly special to create her wedding flowers.

Her bouquet was a soft and romantic blend of ivory and baby blue tones, with white roses, lisianthus and spray roses, paired with blue delphiniums and soft oxypetalum for that delicate hint of colour.

We included blue thistle as a nod to her dad’s Scottish heritage, adding both meaning and texture.

All finished with soft grey eucalyptus for a natural, elegant feel.

Alongside the bouquet, we also created a top table basket for the lounge, thank you bouquets for the mums and buttonholes to complete everything.

Jordan and Tom’s wedding was such a special one for weddingsbycrosskills to be part of.
