We're hiring for a casual Front of House Duty Manager to join our team as we head into a busy Autumn season 🍂

The FOH Duty Manager will manage the Front of House (FOH) team during theatre performances and events ensuring that customers receive the highest standard of customer service, making sure that the comfort and Health & Safety of customers are always guaranteed.

Another wonderful exhibition that saw so many people visiting and browsing the artworks in detail.

A reminder that all artists and buyers can collect their artwork on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 August between 10am and 4pm. Please contact Box Office to arrange an alternative collection date.

The hilarious Mackie's Comedy will be presenting A Scottish Comedy Collective next month!

Down to Earth and just plain funny is the only way to describe Graham Mackie who has drawn some very fine material indeed from his dysfunctional home life. Graham's claim to fame is that he has gotten himself into the final of the "Scottish Comedian of The Year" competition FOUR times! Nobody else has ever achieved this remarkable feat and it's a testament to the talent and determination of the big man.

JUST ANNOUNCED

wojtek the bear will be joining Jj Gilmour for our last gig of 2025!

Vic Galloway BBC Radio Scotland call them “Indie Pop perfection!”

Formed in Glasgow in early 2016, the band released their 3rd album “shaking hands with the NME” on Last Night From Glasgow in April 2024. The album was recorded with legendary producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, New Order) and it reached #5 in the Scottish and #26 in the UK Album charts. They have been featured by Lauren Laverne, Amy Lamé, Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6 Music), Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1), Vic Galloway, The Roddy Hart Show, The Afternoon Show (BBC Radio Scotland), John Kennedy (Radio X), alongside being playlisted on KEXP.

They have featured at numerous festivals across the UK and Europe and appeared at Belle & Sebastian’s Boaty Weekender festival in Barcelona in 2019 alongside the likes of Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai, Yo La Tengo & Camera Obscura.

On Wednesday 10 September, 11-1pm Inverclyde Women Create will be creating an installation of small weavings outside the Beacon, with the beautiful backdrop of the Clyde, based on ‘Ojo de Dios’, made with love and containing inspirational messages.

An Ojo de Dios is a spiritual and votive object made by weaving a design out of yarn upon a wooden cross. Often several colours are used. They are commonly found in Mexican, Peruvian and Latin American communities, among both Indigenous and Catholic peoples.

Inverclyde Women Create invites the public to come along and choose one of their beautiful creations to take home with them.

Inverclyde Women Create is a free weekly art class funded by the Beacon, delivered in partnership with Your Voice Inverclyde, made up of local and New to Scotland female-identifying creatives from Inverclyde.

This is a space for intra-cultural and multi-generational dialogue through creation and welcomes women who want to learn new skills, explore shared histories and most importantly forge new friendships.
