It is with a heavy heart I officially announce I am winding down Sunset Discos.
At a recent event I injured my shoulder and had some gear damaged and after some difficult internal debate, the decision has been made. I can no longer afford continual repairs/replacements, licensing and insurance costs are at a record high, and it’s become such hard work on my own, alongside a full on day job it’s no longer manageable. With the rising costs of all overheads, and the industry suffering from record low bookings for live entertainment (as we’re all feeling the financial pressure) the business no longer sustainable.
I’m so sorry to let you all down but there’s plenty of up and coming talent and long standing professionals that would love the opportunity to assist you with mobile discos for your events. Please continue to book local small businesses, every like, share and comment helps more than you could ever know!
Having worked alongside my Dad since a child, and continuing his business as my own in his honour, this is not a decision I have made lightly, so please know that if I still could, I would. I truly hope my Dad and I have provided an escape from reality, fun amongst the daily grind and a reliable and consistent source of quality entertainment over the years we have been performing. I am forever proud of all my Dad achieved, all he taught me, and all that I have tried to continue as his legacy, my life’s work, my pride and joy, and this will remain my proudest achievement.
So as the sun sets on our final curtain, I’d like to thank YOU; our loyal customers - for so many recommendations, repeat bookings, the most memorable weddings, fantastic parties, amazing venues and incredible friends we’ve made along the way! We hope you’ve had as much fun as we have along the way! From grandmas to grandkids, brides to school kids, summer fetes and holiday parks, it’s been a blast!
