Lovely day at The Barn Hotel Wedding Fayre at Marston. Lots of interest, when talking to couples they still are unaware of an Independant Wedding Celebrant like myself and what we can deliver.
So, what do I do as an Independant Wedding Celebrant, I deliver your wedding ceremony of your dreams it is personal to you and your partner. And it is built around you, your choices and wishes. The only barrier is I cannot marry you legally. All my couples go to the register office and have the legal side of their marriage performed at their local registra office,that can be as little as £80 each with 2 witnesses. They then mark this with maybe a meal whatever they choose. Then a couple of days later they have their wedding day ceremony with me wherever they want a venue of their choice. Could be hotel , back garden own home, village hall it does not have to be licensed for weddings.
Once the date is booked with me I see the couple several times before their big day, enabling the couple to discuss their wedding, I get to know them and they get to know me. Within the ceremony it is their choice what they want to include, whether it's their children been involved, secret vow's, a handfasting ceremony. I charge £100 non refundable deposit on booking and £350 in instalments after that.
A registra and celebrant from the council charge approximately, £500- £800 for their services which you fill out a form they maybe see you once. On the wedding day chances are you will not see the same Celebrant and registra. You see who ever turns up for 10 minutes before the ceremony. The ceremony is the same as the bride and groom before you , not personal at all !

As we come to the end of 2025 , I look back at all the beautiful amazing weddings I have delivered this year. And the amazing couples I have had the pleasure of meeting.
I would like to wish them all a Happy 1st Christmas as a married couple also to Jane and Nigel as they continue in their marriage. And to all the couples I have met, and about to meet to deliver their wedding ceremony of their choice in 2026. I look forward to our meetings and your beautiful ceremonies.

Sunday was my first Wedding Renewal, and it was planned unknown to the husband!!
It was a bit of a nice 'can t believe this is happening' moment. It went very well a full wedding ceremony and lots of laughs and tears .

Well what a weekend performing a Handfasting Ritual for one of my lovely couples on Saturday. I did not do the whole wedding ceremony because the couple wanted to be married legally infront of their guests. However, they really wanted the Handfasting Ritual, and as the council registra and celebrant cannot perform it as it is not recognised as a legal part of a marriage, the couple asked if I could deliver that for them. Of course I said yes and once the registra and celebrant left the building, I was allowed to deliver the beautiful Handfasting Ritual. In fact all my couples choose it to be included in their ceremony.

Another wedding in lovely Random Hall, Slinfold Sussex. It was very special for a friends son that I have known since he was 8 yrs old. The ceremony was very emotional, personal, and beautiful and showed their love for each other so strong. Looking forward to the rest of September for further weddings and beautiful couples.

Wedding number four this year, I have been busier than last year. Loving been able to officiate the wedding ceremonies to the couple. The choice is theirs it is there moment. All my couples have the Handfasting Ceremony which was a Celtic tradition of getting married and tying their knot in marriage, it dates back to 7000 BC . Three more weddings to go this year at the moment! Loving my time as an Independent Wedding Celebrant.

Well what a busy time I have had lately, I had the pleasure of delivering another wedding ceremony to another lovely couple in Cricklade Wiltshire. The wedding was in Jenner Hall Cricklade, the hall was full of bunting, pink peonies and a lovely arch at the front, chairbacks were Hessian bows and Peonies very natural and the ceremony was just what the couple wanted. Full of love, and included a Handfasting Ceremony it was beautiful. The bride liked happy hands on the photos, hence the hand wave !!

What a beautiful wedding yesterday for one of my lovely couples I have been working with for a year. Delivering their wedding of their choice, at Abbey Farm Kirkstead near Woodhall Spa. It was amazing relaxed, fun and full of love. Wishing them a happy life together.
