🎩🏆 Well… this is a bit exciting! 🏆🎩

I’ve just found out that Magic Steve has been shortlisted for Startup Business of the Year at the Gosport Business Awards 2026! 🎉

When I started properly building Magic Steve, the aim was pretty simple - perform great close-up magic, get people talking, laughing and having a good time, and see where it went.

Since then I’ve somehow ended up performing at weddings, corporate events, festivals and parties, meeting thousands of brilliant people along the way… and now apparently I’m an award finalist. 😁

There were clearly some brilliant nominations this year, so I’m genuinely really pleased to have even made the shortlist. Whatever happens on the night, it’s great to be recognised alongside other local businesses.

A massive thank you to everyone who has booked me, recommended me, left a review, followed the page, shared a post or stopped me somewhere in Gosport to say hello. It all helps more than you probably realise.

Now we wait for the awards night… 👀🏆

The CEO has decided she wants an extra job for extra pay today… apparently she’s now my driver. 😂

A few minor issues:
🚗 No driving licence
👀 Can barely see over the dashboard
💷 Already negotiating mileage

Think we’ll stick with CEO, chief critic and keeper of the chicken tenders for now. 😂

Saturday afternoon board meeting with the CEO at Westquay Southampton.

First stop: IKEA.

£26 spent… entirely on lunch.

Not a candle. Not a storage box. Not a single bit of flat-pack furniture.

I genuinely thought we'd cracked this whole 'financial responsibility' thing.

Then we went to Primark.

Then POP MART.

Then the CEO required a Costa to recover from all that shopping. ☕️

Turns out, escaping IKEA with just a £26 lunch wasn’t quite the financial victory I thought it was. Westquay had other plans. 😂

Magic Steve remains operational.

So, apparently it’s kinda chic to have an 11-year-old CEO.

Kinda chic to have every new trick rigorously tested by someone with absolutely no concern for my feelings.

Kinda chic to have management reject bad ideas before they make it onto Facebook.

And kinda chic to admit that half of you lot seem more interested in seeing the CEO than the magician anyway. 🙄😂

Management remains ruthless.

✨ THROWBACK TO THE WEEKEND… and a little bit of actual movie magic! ✨

We had a brilliant day at Beaulieu, National Motor Museum and came face-to-face with one of the most magical cars ever to hit the road… or, more accurately, leave it completely. 😂

Yep - the Ford Anglia from Harry Potter! 🪄🚙

This is the car that Ron Weasley and Harry Potter flew all the way to Hogwarts after they missed the Hogwarts Express - before making a rather dramatic arrival involving the Whomping Willow! 🌳💥

As a magician, I spend a fair amount of time making impossible things happen… but getting a Ford Anglia airborne might be slightly outside my current repertoire. 😂

Although judging by the look on Amelia's face, I think she'd happily have taken the keys and given it a go!

A proper little piece of Harry Potter movie magic right there. 🪄⚡

A massive thank you to the guys at BRWCA for having me at the Family Fun Day this afternoon!

Brilliant crowd, brilliant turnout and a really well put together event.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the magic and, more importantly, was happy to get involved - and believe me, that goes a long way for a magician! A crowd that wants to join in, have a laugh and be part of the magic always makes things that little bit extra special.

I really enjoyed being part of the day and I’m already looking forward to working with you again in the future!
