Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen
Firstly I hope you are all well, happy and healthy
As I have not updated my page recently I thought it was appropriate to do so with 2019 fast approaching. For my family and friends I apologise for posting information already known.
If you feel this information is appropriate to any organisation for the elderly including care companies, specific health groups, social welfare departments, care support agencies and any nationwide service framework for the older person please share.
My plan in 2019 is not only to expand E.L.F.S (Entertainment Leisure Fitness Seniors) But to also to seek out like minded entertainers, singers & fitness professionals and organise voluntary large venue events for the elderly in the community starting in the Portsmouth, Gosport an Fareham area.
I have included some information about my entertainment, leisure, fitness activities for seniors programme which I hope you can find time to read.
I have been a professional entertainer for over 13 years working as Cruise Director, Entertainment Director, Executive Officer & Head of Department on the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth 2 & P&O Australia, prior to this Chief Physical Trainer in the Royal Navy for over 24 years.
I have included as requested some information about my entertainment, leisure, fitness activities for seniors.
I have been a professional entertainer for over 15 years working as Cruise Director, Entertainment Director, Executive Officer & Head of Department on the RMS Queen Mary 2, RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 & P&O Australia, prior to this I worked as a Chief Physical Trainer in the Royal Navy for over 24 years.
I now specialise in a range of musical and exercise activities as well as memory cafes designed for the elderly. I use music and exercise to take residents through a nostalgic journey through the decades as well as bringing Cruise Ship entertainment to the residential home.
My success has been overwhelming, 24 months ago I volunteered to entertain and exercise at a Care Home in Portsmouth and now I visit many homes in the Hampshire area.
All music involves audience participation both by song, exercise, movement and dance*(Standing and Seated *)
The activities include:- 1930’s Sing-along - Wartime Melodies - 1940’s Big Band Dance Music - Music from around the World - Ballroom Dance Music - 1950’s Rock and Roll Music - 1960’s Beatles Music – Pirates - Hawaiian - Country and Western - 1970’s Fun Dances & Party – Interactive Quizzes – Game Shows – Sherlock Holmes Musical Murder Mystery – Tea Dance – Balls – Themed Events – Seniors Keep Fit and Boot Camps.
Depending on the Residential Home I can present the following Talks, Lectures and PowerPoint presentations including Lord Cochrane "Master and Commander", The History of “Cunard Ocean Liners and Cruise Ships”, Chile - "Cape Horn to the Atacama Desert - Easter Island to the Andes", The Voyages of Captain James Cook - "Great Britain's Greatest Explorer", The Mutiny on the Bounty – “Blyth and Christian”, Talks on Healthy Lifestyle for the Elderly and many more. All these talks have been successful and popular at Libraries, Discovery Centres, Woman's Institutes, Historical Societies, HMS Victory, Naval Establishments and Residential Homes.
I have been told I have a truly marvellous gift of encouraging, cajoling, motivating, instructing and above all communicating my own obvious sense of enjoyment in all areas of entertainment, leisure and fitness for seniors. (ELFS). My interpersonal skills are excellent and have a quick wit, a gift of patter to match my keenness and energy, I’m a up front and engaging personality who is at home with people of all backgrounds and disabilities.
The sessions are full of fun and laughter and they make the residents feel good in themselves. Improvements during music, interaction and exercise have been remarkable.
My background is not only that of a Cruise/Entertainments Director on the largest Ocean Liner in the world, I’m also a qualified certified instructor in Human Behaviour, Sports Therapy, Exercise and Fitness Instruction of the Older Person, Advanced Application of Health Related Exercise, Exercise and Fitness Coach/Seniors Teacher in Water and Aqua Exercise, Stress Management and Music Therapy.
In short I’m a character, but one who delivers and is widely respected as I’m liked in the homes I attend by enriching the life of those I work with and I request the opportunity to talk and discuss the possibility of working with your Organisation.

Testimonial
I utilised David in many ways at my homes. He was extremely successful and competent delivering Fitness for the seniors, Seniors T Dances & Dancing classes, but this is just a small part of what he can do. David created & hosted Music Quiz/ Trivia Quizzes, Murder Mystery Afternoons and Fun Music Parties to suit all our needs, be it Nursing, Dementia or Residential. David brings an element of 'life' and enthusiasm to his work, his caring nature helps empathise with the residents and in turn their wellbeing was always better when he was around. A true friend and pioneer of the industry and someone I couldn't speak more highly.
Simon Smith, Senior Living Community Manager & Care Services Sales Executive

On board Pacific Jewel, Pacific Dawn and Pacific Sun.
