Just an update folks as I realise I've been quiet on the gig front....
Firstly my personal life
My Dad's dementia has accelerated hugely in the last 2 months. I'm often getting calls from Social Services, District Nurses and my Dad and am doing a lot of running around during the day. He now requires daily visits from me as well as me handling all his affairs, appointments etc. This is on the back of mum having dementia for the last 7 years.
On top of that, as my transplant is getting older, I'm getting anaemia more often and am having to do EPO jabs. this is making me more fatigued.
My health is generally not good.
Honestly I'm tired.
Apart from feeling tired on Fridays, my finances only really make it possible to attend 1 gig per week. Mostly that's The Bird on a Sunday as I consider that my local.
Next my photography
I love shooting, I really do. But I've done a few years of gig photography and it hasn't really covered the cost of the equipment I've bought. A good few bands have supported me financially and promotionally - you know who are :) And I'm thankful for that. But my gig work will be cut drastically and, unless you specifically book me, I'll be continuing with just Sundays.
As most of you know, I'm doing more portrait work now and am loving this. It's much more staged, planned and I feel I'm getting the best photos I've ever taken. It's also possible to do this during the week and not just committed to weekends. But this is also a case of getting established, which incurs costs - travel, models etc. I'm looking for TFP models (free) mostly, but they're rarer than rocking horse s**t. I just happened to be extremely lucky with the last shoot as models of that calibre don't normally offer collaborations. I've also been fortunate with musicians who follow me here, who have put themselves forward to give me experience. Again - you know who you are and I'm grateful
So just thought I'd update you. If you scrolled straight down to here then AI will summarise this post as 'Mark's life is a s**t show'
