Believing in the power of music and theatre to transform lives, Castaway-Goole creates social, recreational, rehabilitative and life development opportunities through weekly arts educational and social activities for 70 adults and young people with learning, physical and complex disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions in Goole and the East Riding area west of Hull. We aim to improve well being, quality of life and employability and to combat loneliness and social and rural isolation, enabling people to grow in confidence, learn new skills and to play a more fulfilling role in their communities. Goole is recognised as a deprived area and we are a vital hub where our members meet regularly for a wide variety of arts based sessions with industry professionals. Castaway provides a safe and friendly environment in which we can impart knowledge, give help and advice, offer a fresh and invigorating atmosphere where creativity can flourish.
