Golspie Gala Est 1973, Our first GGW was held in 1974. GGW26 will be held from Saturday 1st August to Sunday 9th August 2026. Please contact Kevin Macnicol.

Golspie Gala Week, is a hugely popular and regular event since the early 1970’s and is now regarded as one of the foremost summer community festivals in the North of Scotland. Organised by The Golspie Gala Association, the week-long packed programme of daily and evening events cater for children of all ages and adults alike, and commences with The Crowing of the Gala Queen. Full details will be po

sted on this site in June, and the Gala Week booklet will also be available from local shops at that time. Many of the events are free of charge and sponsored by a business, and monies raised during Gala Week is donated to local charities and organisations in and around Golspie. It is Helmie games day. A day where all of our boomer generation will watch the games but will grumble a bit about the parking and how things were so much better in their day.

Gen X will go and enjoy the beer tent with the odd few making it to the dance but should really have headed home at 9pm on the Ember bus, and will then be trying to scrounge a lift home from the bar staff.

Our Millenials will definitely make the tent at night but may leave early as their social battery may be depleted to 0% after a few hours of socialising.

Our gen z'rs (and maybe the odd few Gen alphas who mange to sneak in) will spend most of the night bopping about putting the rest of us to shame, safe in the knowledge they have a dedicated private taxi driver (mam or dad) to come and collect them at 2am.

The next batch of kids will be hard at work at the side shows, with their parents wishing they had organised granny and granda so they can be in the beer tent.

Whatever your age, its a great day out. Go and enjoy yourselves.

A big thank you to Annalee, Millie and Skye for last week. They literally have to attend every event, with early starts after late night's all through the week.

They also have to give up a weeks holiday for Gala Week, so a HUGE thank you to all three for helping make the week so special.

Also a big pat on the back to our new driver for being their number one chauffeur all week, well done Ian, hope to see you again next year 😀
