UTOPIA, LIMITED: TICKET UPDATE
Well, we're right on the cusp of our fortnight of shows. We move into the first theatre - Godalming Borough Hall this weekend, ready to open on Wednesday. As you can see below ALL Godalming shows are now in the VERY LIMITED tier - with only a handful of tickets available for the final four shows. We are well over 90% sold for Godalming, and there is every chance these shows will SELL OUT! There is more availability for The Leatherhead Theatre shows as it naturally is a much bigger venue, but even there, two of the three shows are at LIMITED availability, and the Saturday matinee is ready to tip over into the VERY LIMITED tier. We STRONGLY recommend booking ASAP to ensure you get your seats and don't miss out on this wonderful production - tickets can be bought via godalmingoperatic.org/tickets
UTOPIA, LIMITED is the 13th of the 14 collaborations by Gilbert & Sullivan. Described by George Bernard Shaw as the finest score written by Sullivan, this comic opera is set on the South Pacific Island of Utopia - a paradise, which has it's whole way of life turned upside down when the King's eldest daughter returns from Cambridge with 6 "Flowers of Progress". The Flowers are leading British citizens from politics, business, defence etc. who proceed to turn Utopia upside-down making it an idealised version of Britain across the waves. The King's advisers are very unhappy about this as it lessens their power and therefore they repeatedly threaten to blow up the King with Dynamite!
Do not miss out on the chance to witness this amazing show performed by one of the leading Gilbert & Sullivan groups in the country, accompanied by a 25 piece professional orchestra. You may have also noticed we've updated our graphics with some of the characters from the show modelled on the performers playing them! We'll be revealing the unobscured versions on Sunday - watch this space!
