Pancake Day tomorrow, bring it on!

It's been a rough start of the year, finally the battles with multiple illnesses are over and I'm back stronger than ever! 💪

Instead of orderables I bring you ideas for pancake day this time. It's so easy, just follow a few basic rules 👇 and you'll be the queen in the house! ...at least until the board clears off, lol

1. Get a platter, anything will do. A tray, a cutting board, a serving dish. Place your elements starting with the largest ones
2. Pick you elements. Think in varieties of tastes, colours and textures!
*Pancake: 🥞fluffy american, 🫔crepes or 🧇waffes?
*Tastes: 🍯Sweet and/or 🧂savoury? Nutella and banana? Jam? Cream and berries? Sugar and cinnamon? Honey and brie? Sour cream, cheddar and chive? Salmon and horseraddish? Sour cream and caviar? Maple and bacon?
*Colours: 🍇fruits work the best... colourful 🍓🫐berries, green 🍏 apples or grapes, 🍊orange slices, choices are endless
*Textures: spreads (nutella, biscoff spread, jam, vanilla joghurt, whipped cream), nuts or meringues for crunch, syrups for toppings (honey, maple syrup, golden syrup, chocolate or caramel syrup)
*Finishings: sprinkle over mini marshmellows, coated nuts, chocolate bites, dried berries etc...

Lots of these you will have in your food cupboard I'm sure. So let's get creative, it's playtime!

Back from holidays, recovered from sickness. Excited to enter 2022 with a fresh body&mind, having eaten lots of lentils on new years day.

Why lentils???

Beliefs say that New Years Day is an important day to ground your success for the coming year. And not to loose your chances of course we even turn to superstitions.
Here is one from Hungary: you eat lentils on New Years Day. Each small lentil piece represents a coin and the more you consume on NYD the more fruitful your year will be.
Form of your lentil dish is irrelevant. This year we had it as a creamy, garlicy lentil salad on the side of this lovely grazing board whose main element was rosé duck breast.
Speaking of superstitions... You're NOT supposed to eat poultry as they scrape away your luck for the entire year.

Sounds like we're even for 2022!😆
