September marks the start of a brand-new season at Partington Theatre! 🎭

While we wait for our first production, The Ghost Train, arriving in October, we’ve got some fantastic events coming up at the theatre.

One we’re particularly excited about is Your Song — a celebration of the incredible music of Elton John and Billy Joel. 🎹🎶

This is not a tribute act. It’s two consummate professionals celebrating some of the most amazing, timeless songs ever written — performed from the heart with passion, musical excellence and a genuine love for the music.

How amazing is Sherry Stokes! 🌟

One of our much-loved regular actors, you may have seen Sherry in Sylvia and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, to name just a couple of her wonderful performances. Before she takes to the stage in our upcoming production of Ghost Train, she's taking on an incredible challenge.

Sherry is walking almost 200 miles from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay, completing the famous Wainwright Coast to Coast route solo. She's navigating the entire journey herself and carrying all of her own camping gear every step of the way!

She's doing it all to raise vital funds for her beloved Partington Theatre. ❤️

Last night was the Greater Manchester Drama Federation - GMDF Drama Awards, and we're delighted to share that The Partington Theatre won three awards for our production of Wind in the Willows earlier this year! 🎭🏆

A huge congratulations to everyone involved, and especially to our award winners:

🏆 Best Costume – Lorraine and her fantastic costume team
🏆 Best Male Actor – Victor Lockhart for his outstanding performance as Mole
🏆 Best Supporting Male Actor – Matthew Cox for his brilliant portrayal of Mr. Toad

It's wonderful to see our theatre continuing to receive recognition for the passion, creativity and dedication of our talented cast, crew and volunteers. What a fantastic achievement for everyone involved!

Now we have everything crossed 🤞 as we look ahead to tonight's GMDF Musical and Pantomime Awards. Best of luck to everyone nominated.

✨ We all love finding something creative for the children during the summer holidays! 🎨

So we're delighted to welcome The Art Nook Glossop back to our Clubroom this Friday and every Friday throughout August for a series of fun, inspiring art classes.

Here's what Jo has to say:

☀️ The Art Nook Summer Classes are back – and this year it's Pay What You Can!

📅 Every Friday from 31st July to 28th August
🕚 11:00am – 12:00pm
👧👦 For children aged approximately 7–11 years

Children will enjoy painting, drawing, designing, learning about artists and, most importantly, getting creative in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Parents, carers or guardians stay for the session (with your own space to relax while the children create!).

💷 Pay what you can – anything from £0 to £10+ to help make the classes accessible to everyone.

You can book individual sessions or the full block—whatever suits your little artist best. As places were very popular last year, please only book if you're able to attend so everyone has the chance to join in.

We are thrilled to be part of the Glossop Community Champions Not-for-Profit Pop-Up at Pico Lounge! 💙

This fantastic, family-friendly event shines a spotlight on 20+ amazing local groups and charities, all together in one place. It's a great opportunity to discover what's happening in our community, meet local organisations, and enjoy a fun day out.

Our incredible volunteers at Partington have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to create a stall that's full of fun, colour, and creativity. A special shout-out goes to Katy whose amazing creative flair has transformed her ideas into something we think you'll be truly wowed by! 🤩
