🎭Opening night was a huge success for The Ghost Train! 👻

We had a full house, with everyone on the edge of their seats as the story unfolded on stage.

There were scares, plenty of comedy and absolutely brilliant acting from everyone involved. With a fantastic mix of old and new faces, every character was brought to life and played with real conviction.

🚂 The set itself really helped create the atmosphere, adding to the suspense and bringing the story to life. Combined with the lighting, sound and performances, it made for a wonderfully atmospheric evening that kept the audience hooked from start to finish.

👏 A huge well done to the whole cast and crew — you were brilliant!

🎟️ There are still a few tickets available for tonight, with a few more available throughout the rest of the week. Don’t miss it — you’ll be entertained from start to finish!

Our first play of the new season is The Ghost Train, running 5th–10th October!
This week, we’ll be introducing you to the fantastic cast bringing this spooky classic to life. 🎭
Keep your eyes peeled… you never know who might be stepping aboard! 👀🚂
In no particular order...

Colin's involvement with Partington Theatre began when he took on the hidden - though very important - role of prompt. Having sat in the wings for three productions, Colin's interest in acting was rekindled and he was delighted to be offered his first acting role as Saul Hodgkin. Now enjoying the benefits of retirement, Colin hopes to be involved in more Partington Players’ productions in the future.

Ewan is an ever-present at Partington Theatre. Whether it’s exemplary performances on stage, or as part of the production team or backstage crews - you’ll find him being helpful somewhere. Initially drafted in as ‘line reader’ and understudy for other cast members, he made himself indispensable to this production of The Ghost Train. The director and cast insisted he take up the role of Ben Isaacs, something Ewan was delighted to do.

Jon, scarily it's been 4 decades since he was last on stage and boy does it show. Back in the day he enjoyed performing in plays, reviews, sketch shows and even opera (chorus only for the sake of anyone with the gift of hearing). Notable roles include Sir Toby Belch, Saul Hodgkin and a sullen, Clint Eastwood-esque drifter in 1 of Stewart Lee's early plays.

In no particular order...

Felicity first stepped onto the stage at 5 years old and has loved it ever since. She has been a member of several amateur dramatic societies around the High Peak area, performing in pantomimes (Principal Boy 3 times for the Partington). Felicity has also danced and acted in musicals and performed in many different plays, including as May Trickett in Partington Players’ production of Silver Linings. She is really excited to play Julia in The Ghost Train. “It's such a fun play to be a part of.”

David had 20 years experience as an actor and director with am-dram groups in
Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire before joining Partington Players in 2017. He appeared in the Haslingfield Little Theatre production of The Ghost Train in 1996 and is very much enjoying a different role in this year’s production.

In no particular order...

Bev has performed with many local drama societies over the years, including Wigan Little Theatre and Altrincham Garrick. At Partington Theatre she has had roles in Humble Boy, The Dresser, and Pastimes. After a break away from the theatre, she is delighted to be back with the Partington Players as a member of the cast of The Ghost Train.

Victor fell in love with stage acting in 2023 when he stepped out on the boards for the first time as 'Alucard' in 'Dracula The Phantomime'. Since then he has had many roles in various productions including his most recent as 'Mole' in 'Wind In The Willows' - garnering him a Best Actor award in the GMDF Annual Drama Festival. He is very excited to take on the role of Teddie in this classic comedy thriller.
