🏏 3RD XI MAKE IT BACK-TO-BACK WINS

Glossop 227 all out
Stayley 124 all out
✅ Glossop win by 103 runs

Another excellent result for the 3rd XI, with a convincing win over Stayley at North Road.

Batting first, Glossop found themselves 55-4 before Boothroyd and Kay turned the innings around with a crucial 76-run partnership.

💥 Boothroyd – 91 from 67 balls, including 12 fours and 3 sixes
⭐ Kay – 33 from 39
👏 Wilson – 55 from just 38 balls

Wilson's quick-fire half-century kept the momentum going as Glossop reached a strong 227.

Stayley were then reduced to 15-4 and never really recovered, with wickets shared around as they were bowled out for 124.

A proper all-round performance: 33 with the bat, 1-21 with the ball and two catches. One was a sharp catch at slip before he later took a caught and bowled off his own bowling.

📋 Match Report — Glossop U9s v Old Glossop 📋

The last Sunday of the season, and what a way to sign off — our best performance of the season!

Old Glossop batted first, and our bowling set the tone straight away. Seb D took a wicket with his first ball, with plenty more to follow.

Paddy and Duke kept the pressure on, conceding just 5 and 4 respectively, while Bill was excellent too, going for only 7 with a single wide all morning. Fred, Alfie, Ellie, Rohan and Tilly all ran in and gave it everything, with our fielders keeping things tight.

Seb returned to take wickets 2 and 3 of his spell — especially impressive after getting something in his eye during his first over!

Old Glossop finished on 257, giving us a very gettable target.

Rohan and Seb opened the batting, with Seb outstanding — 23 from just 12 balls, including five 4s, finishing unbeaten.

Paddy and Duke faced some of Old Glossop's better bowlers, with Paddy digging in for a determined unbeaten 6.

Fred and Alfie got things moving again, Alfie hitting a 4 and a 6 on his way to 12, while Fred added 9. Ellie and Tilly followed, with Tilly making 12 from 9 balls and Ellie adding 8.

Bill and Alfie finished in style with the best partnership of the innings — 37 between them. Bill finished unbeaten on 18 and Alfie made 19, taking Glossop comfortably beyond 300.

A brilliant batting performance, with the biggest difference being our running between the wickets. Almost every opportunity was taken, helping us post 300+ for the first time! 👏🏻

🏅 Player of the Match: Paddy

Not the flashiest numbers, but one of our tightest bowlers with just 5 conceded, followed by a determined batting performance against a difficult spell without losing his wicket. Full of energy in the field too.

He's come on enormously this season and thoroughly deserves it! 👏🏻💙💛

🏏 2ND XI | WINNING RUN CONTINUES! 💙💛

Milnrow 164 all out

Another gutsy performance from the 2s saw them continue their recent winning streak with a brilliant victory over an experienced Milnrow side. 👏

Bowling first on a green wicket, Glossop kept things tight early on before Joseph made the big breakthroughs, ripping through the top order with 3-38. Joe also picked up 2-44 as Milnrow were dismissed for 164.

In reply, Joseph (26) and Sam Dyson (24) gave Glossop a solid start before the innings began to wobble.

Enter Jarrod Holmes and Dave Allen. 💪

The pair produced a crucial 67-run partnership, with Jarrod hitting an excellent 66 and Dave finishing unbeaten on 27* to break the back of the chase and see Glossop over the line.

A fantastic win made even more impressive with a number of senior players missing from the side. The 2s keep rolling! 🔥🦁

🏏 1ST XI | BACK TO WINNING WAYS! 💙

Flowery Field 150 all out

After a disappointing couple of weeks, the 1s produced a huge performance when it mattered most, securing a 78-run victory away at Flowery Field and keeping promotion firmly in their own hands. 👏

On a tricky wicket, Chris Gill (67) and Lee Dale (55) showed real patience and discipline, putting together another superb century partnership. Matt Sonczak then finished things in style with a rapid 39* from 28 balls to take Glossop to 228-4.

With the ball, Glossop piled on the pressure before Adam Hayes ripped through the top order with 3-17. The spin duo of Sonczak and Hargreaves then took control to finish the job.
