We always like to keep you in the loop with what’s happening behind the scenes 💚🖤

Over the past week, we’ve been working through the actions from our latest team meeting, including:

• Installing defibs in new locations
• Prioritising where the next ones are needed most
• Reviewing defibs that need relocating to be more accessible
• Checking live defibs with issues – for example, we currently have four running on their last battery bar. Imagine reaching for a defib in an emergency only to find it doesn’t work 💔
• Planning our next fundraising events

Many people don’t realise that our next order for defibs, cabinets, pads, batteries and defib kits comes in at over £16,000 – even with a fantastic supplier deal.

We’re incredibly grateful for every donation and fundraiser that supports us. Installing defibs is just the start. With around 50 live defibs to service every three months, the ongoing work to keep them rescue-ready really adds up.

Thank you for helping us protect our community ❤️

MERSEYBANK NURSERY!! Where do we begin to say Thankyou ❤️

We got handed this HUGGEE bag of cash last week as a donation to Heart 2 Heart Fundraising Events - Glossop (the fundraising event page for Glossopdale Community Defibs) there is approximately £1300 which is just an unbelievable donation and we were going to post a huge thankyou with an exact amount. This nursery has been working so hard with all of their little ones, from raffles to sponsored walks and we are SO SO grateful of all of their hard work! ❤️❤️

But the sad reality is.. before we even had chance to post this Thankyou, in the last week we have had another notification to say one of our Defibs has been taken to the scene an emergency.

We already have members of our team on standby ready to replace the pads if this defib had to be used. A cost of £70 to us.. but whats £70 if it’s given somebody the best chance of survival. We would pay it all day every day.

Everybody at Glossopdale Defibs is part of this team because we have experienced and understand the importance of a defib and how the lives of us or our loved ones would be different without one..

We have installed approximately 50 Defibs in the area which all have a maintenance cost..

Everybody donating is saving lives and Merseybank Nursery - take a bow for an absolutely amazing donation - you truly are LIFE SAVERS 💚🖤💚🖤💚

We have a JustGiving page for anybody who would like to donate - we can not begin to tell you how appreciated every single penny is ❤️

We are Glossopdale Community Defibs – a team of good friends and volunteers doing our bit to make a real difference across our area. Thanks to your support, we now have almost 50 live defibs across Glossop, Hadfield, Padfield and Hollingworth.

This month a large number of pads reached their expiry date… and the best part is, you probably didn’t even realise. Everything was checked, ordered and replaced before it ever became a concern. That’s exactly how we want it to be – smooth, proactive and completely stress-free for our guardians.

Each replacement set now costs £70, and with so many units to care for, the ongoing costs do build. But keeping these machines fully maintained is what keeps our community safe.

If you’re able to spare even a small contribution, it genuinely helps us continue this work and keep every defib ready for when it’s needed most.

A little update from us… ❤️

It’s been a while, but we wanted to share what we’ve been up to these last few months with the funds raised from our H2H Ball.

Firstly – our amazing paramedic Grant from has carried out another full inspection of all the defibs we’ve installed across the community. He does this voluntarily, in his own time, and keeps a full spreadsheet of every location to make sure they’re working, pads are in date and batteries are charged.

Before the ball, it was the responsibility of the ‘guardian’ to check and replace pads/batteries – but we realised this can often get missed. So, we’ve made the decision to use the funds raised to cover all ongoing defib maintenance going forward – because what’s the point in having defibs out there if they don’t work when you need them?

We’ve also been working behind the scenes trying to negotiate with suppliers to get the best rates – but these things take time, and VAT is a big added cost. We’re now seriously considering registering as our own charity to help manage costs better – if anyone has advice or experience with this, we’d love to hear from you!

In more exciting news… our first 10 new defibs are now on order, and we’re hoping to have them installed in the next few weeks. We have a meeting next week with the supplier.. It’s taken a bit longer than hoped, but we’re so proud of what’s coming.

And finally – a huge shoutout to Grant, who is now a volunteer with the Community First Responder team. One of these responders played a vital role in saving my dad’s life – and that’s where Heart 2 Heart began. Grant’s own medical company has now donated a response car, and we’ve agreed to sponsor it – meaning our logo will be out there in the community, supporting life-saving efforts even beyond defib use.

We don’t usually agree to spend funds on sponsorships, but in this case, it was a no-brainer. This vehicle will help save countless local lives, and we’re incredibly proud to be involved.

Thank you again to everyone who continues to support Heart 2 Heart – we’ll have more to share soon. If you have any questions or want to get involved, feel free to drop us a message ❤️

A HUGE thankyou to - MERSEYBANK DAY NURSERY ❤️✨

Both mine and Adam’s children attend this absolutely amazing nursery, we had a defib to allocate to the Hadfield area so we couldn’t think of a better location to have it installed - & to support our cause they hosted a fundraising day where the children could dress up and also make their own Heart 2 Heart bags raising an amazing total of £232.50! ❤️✨

Absolutely amazing 🙌🏻🥹❤️

We’ve had a few questions about what happens with the funds we’ve raised, so we wanted to give you a sneak peek into some of our plans moving forward!

Many of the defibrillators we’ve provided to local businesses and residents haven’t been properly maintained for various reasons. Typically, this is the responsibility of the defibrillator guardian, but with rising costs, we know it’s not always feasible for everyone.

Thanks to the funds raised from the ball, we’ve ordered 20 sets of replacement pads. Some have already been delivered and swapped out by our dedicated team paramedic, who generously volunteers his time to inspect and service these defibs. After all, there’s no point in having 20 defibs out there if 10 of the pads are expired!

Looking ahead, we’re exploring the possibility of turning into a registered charity. We know it won’t be a simple process, so if anyone has advice, please send it our way!

This could also open the door to renegotiating better deals on defibs and casings, allowing us to get even more out into the community. It’s going to be a busy couple of months ahead!

Thank you all for your ongoing support! ❤️
