Sunset hike of dreams ✨️πŸ₯ΎπŸŒ„

We had a few drop outs for this one for various reasons, so just 7 of us headed out to take in some of the Peak District's most iconic views 😍

Seeing the Salt Cellar at sunset has been on my personal bucket lists forever and it was magical to finally get to witness it with such gorgeous company!

Let's hope the sky is putting on a show like this for our sunrise hike on 25th of this month πŸ₯Ή

4 years of this beautiful community πŸ₯Ή

And we were treated to a beautiful sunset on Bleaklow - the second highest hill in the Peak District.

A stunning 5 mile circular taking in Bleaklow Head and the kissing stones, Higher Shelf stones and the trig point, and the B29 crash site.

We walked, talked, geeked over history and geology, sat and ate cakes whilst the sun was setting and just enjoyed each other's company πŸ₯°

I'm feeling very grateful to all of the women who have made this comminuty what it is today - a beautiful, welcoming space where we can be ourselves πŸ’š

Bring on the next evening walk this Thursday πŸŒ„ check out the August story highlight if you'd like to join us!

I am SO EXCITED to be able to share this with you all πŸ₯ΉπŸŒΏ

Four years ago, I had this idea to put on a women-only guided history walk on a random Monday. I called it 'Mums Between the School Runs' and I thought no one would turn up.

Turns out I was wrong as it was fully booked! Some of the women who came on those first walks are still coming along today and I'm so proud of the beautiful community we have built together.

Over the years, I've tried various loyalty cards and schemes to reward my regular attendees...but now it feels like the right time to launch a membership πŸ₯Ή

You don't need to sign up to a membership to get involved. All walks have non-member and member ticket options so nothing changes if you'd prefer to pay as you go.

This community has become so much more than I ever imagined, and if you'd like to be part of its next chapter, I'd absolutely love to have you.

πŸ“§ My newsletter subscribers will be the first to hear all about it at 12pm today and there are limited spaces available for what's on offer.

If you're not on the list yet and don't want to miss out, comment NEWS below πŸ‘‡ and I'll send you the link to join before the email lands.

July was a month of two halves! See the individual captions to see what went on...

I'm grateful to all the lovely people I met this month and im excited for the fun to continue into August πŸ₯ΎπŸ’š

The month kicked off with an amazing opportunity to lead two hikes at the very first Go Outdoors Community Campout, representing Ordnance Survey as an OS Champion πŸ’š

I was invited alongside fellow OS Champs Adrian and Janire and we made a great team πŸ’ͺπŸ₯Ύ

Here I am talking to the group about OS benchmarks!

This was a magical Monday hike to the Trinnacle and Ashway Moss. Such a great day!

We learned about the shooting accident that happened here and visited the memorial cross.

This was the only sunrise hike that was able to go ahead due to the moor fires 😞 it was a special evening on Bamford Edge

A beautiful evening with beautiful company!

Sadly, two sunset hikes had to be postponed. This was the view from Bleaklow Head when I recce'd the route 2 days prior. I look forward to heading up on Monday to kick off our August events πŸ₯°

August is almost here and we're making the most of the long summer days πŸŒ„

Join us for an early morning or evening hike in the Peak District this summer πŸ₯Ύ

Guided by mountain leader, Emily, who will share some of her local history knowledge along the way πŸ€“

All walks are just £17.50 to book and you can do so by heading to our August Events story highlight, bio or our website: www.peakoutdoorcommunity.com ✨️

Pack a flask and a sit mat and let's watch the day end/begin together πŸ’•
