Everyone thinks the ceremony is where the magic happens, but I reckon it starts long before that.

It’s the last morning before everything changes.
The laughs with your bridesmaids.
Your mum fussing over you one last time before you head off to marry your best pal.

“Why Hound & Heart?” I hear absolutely nobody asking…
The Hound is for my dog, Vinnie. My best pal, unpaid assistant and professional crumb hoover.
The Heart is because I actually met my fiancé while photographing a wedding. So if anyone tells you weddings are just expensive parties - they’re right, but sometimes you accidentally find your future husband while you’re there, unless it’s your wedding of course 🙄

Family means everything to me, and that’s exactly how I photograph weddings. No stiff poses. No awkward nonsense. Just real moments, belly laughs, ugly crying, questionable dance moves and your Uncle Davie trying to square go the DJ because they stopped playing ABBA.

Right, who’s been recommending me then?

My available wedding dates are disappearing faster than the drinks at an open bar 😮‍💨

Honestly… what’s going on this week?! Just shows what a wee bit of advertising can do!
I’ve had FIVE wedding bookings come in, and at this point I’m checking my phone more than a best man checks he’s still got the rings in his pocket…
I’m one booking away from phoning my mum and saying, “Mum… I’ve made it!” 🤣

On a serious note (I know, serious? What’s that?), I genuinely can’t thank you all enough. Whether you’ve booked me, tagged my page, shared a post, recommended me to your pals, liked a photo or even just left a wee comment, it’s all helping more than you probably realise. This week has been proof of that, and I’m so grateful for every single bit of support♥️

I still can’t believe I get to spend my weekends capturing all these incredible Scottish weddings. Greeting behind the camera during the vows and trying not to get flattened by an overexcited uncle who’s convinced he can breakdance after three pints😅

If you’ve been sitting there thinking, “Aye, I’ll message her next week,” this is your sign! My diary for the rest of this year is filling up faster than the dance floor when the DJ sticks on Loch Lomond, and next year’s dates are already disappearing too, so if you’re debating messaging, don’t! He even got to meet one of our lovely couples for a wedding next year this week! He obviously contributed absolutely nothing apart from being ridiculously handsome, stealing the attention and constantly barking at one guy with a moustache… But it’s fine cause he’s cute, right?

Getting married?

Congratulations.

If you’ve started planning a wedding, you’ve probably noticed that the second you put the word wedding in front of something, the price triples.

Cake? Fine.

Wedding cake? Get a payment plan.

Flowers? Reasonable.

Wedding flowers? Have you considered selling a kidney?

So, in an attempt to be one of the few suppliers not actively trying to financially ruin you, I’m currently offering reduced-price photography packages while I focus on building a bigger wedding portfolio.

What’s the catch?

Honestly, there isn’t one.

You get beautiful, professional photographs of your day.

I get to expand my portfolio.

Everybody wins.

I’ll be there to capture the big moments, the wee moments, and the moments nobody saw coming.

They’re the bit you get to keep when the cake’s gone, the flowers are dead, and Uncle Stevie has finally stopped telling everyone about the time he nearly became a professional footballer.

I’m so excited to introduce Hound & Heart Weddings 🐾

After a lot of thought, I wanted a brand that felt more personal and truly reflected me. The “Heart” represents the love stories I’m so privileged to capture, while the “Hound” is inspired by my best friend, Vinnie — my little red dachshund who has completely stolen my heart.

While the name may have changed, I’m still the same Shannon behind the camera, capturing genuine moments, big emotions, and all the little details that make your wedding day uniquely yours.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. I can’t wait to continue capturing beautiful weddings across Scotland under my new name.
