There really is something so special about a wedding morning spent in a family home. 👰🏻‍♀️

The warmth, the laughter, the familiar faces, the photos filled with years of happy memories proudly hanging on the walls… it all feels so personal.

Preparing the dresses in a home that’s been part of the bride’s story, then helping her get dressed in the very place she grew up, is a privilege I’ll never take for granted.

And when that home is surrounded by rolling fields, curious sheep, grazing cows, fluttering butterflies, and the peaceful sounds of nature… it makes the morning feel even more magical.

This job is about so much more than dresses. It’s about people, family, connection, and being trusted with such an important part of someone’s day. 🥹🫶🏻

Bridal Hack 👀

If you’re steaming your dress before transporting it to your venue, here’s a tip that can save you a lot of work…

Once it’s steamed, place your dress inside a clean white duvet cover (closed end at the bottom), pull it up over the dress and loosely tie it at the top.

This helps protect the gown and keeps creasing to a minimum during transport. You may still need a few light touch-ups when you arrive, but it’s far better than folding a full-skirted dress back into its garment bag, which can undo all your hard work and bring those creases straight back.

Or better yet… hire a professional bridal dresser and leave it all to us. 🤍

Because realistically, when are you and your bridal party finding time to steam & transport a wedding dress on the morning of your wedding? You’ll be busy soaking up every moment, popping the bubbly, and getting glammed up.

This exquisite Oleg Cassini gown travelled all the way from the USA and needed a little bridal TLC before the big day. Seeing her perfectly prepared reminded me that Oleg Cassini was one of the very first designers I worked with in bridalwear.
