Congratulations again, Jessica & Nathan. Thank you to Maple Media Productions for tagging me in this incredible (as always) video of Nathan & Jessica’s special day. It was a real pleasure to be a part of, and to work with them. We had laughter, tears (the happy kind!) and love. It reminds me why I love this job. The human connection I build with couples is amazing, and I’m ever grateful to those who put their trust in me to deliver their perfect wedding ceremony, whatever that may look like for them ❤️

I am having an admin day, on a rare weekend off during the height of wedding season. I thought I’d take a break to come on here, let you all know I’m taking bookings for the limited availability I have left for 2025/26 and have now opened my diary for 2027 🥰. Please share if you know anyone due to get married that you think would like to have me as their Celebrant. Thank you to everyone who has booked me for/had me as part of their days! I am always grateful to be so fortunate as to have couples recommend me after their own wedding ceremonies. I put a lot of work in to creating and delivering ceremonies that I hope people love, so it is lovely to hear when people tell me I’ve captured their ceremony just right. Much love ❤️ Chris

Spring has sprung, and wedding season is upon us! If you are planning a wedding (in Scotland) and would like to have someone officiate it (legally!) in a way that you’ll love, and is tailored to you, then I can assist.

Please feel free to message, email, call or text to discuss your wedding ceremony.

In the meantime, here are some considerations for the people planning their weddings.

Enjoy the planning, and in the meantime, here is some *hopefully* useful information to those planning to marry 👇🏻

In Scotland, you can be married anywhere you like (providing you give at least one month’s notice) including scenic outdoor areas, your own house or even garden. A Celebrant, such as myself, can guide you through the procedure and then officiate the wedding on the day you choose to say the vows.

The two legal requirements to be married are registering your intention to marry (submitting marriage notice forms) and saying the vows in the presence of your Celebrant and two witnesses. Myself and my colleagues at Independent Humanist Ceremonies proudly advocate equal marriage.

Aside from these considerations, your ceremony can be whatever you want it to be. Personally, I love working with couples to develop a ceremony they will remember forever. This usually involves me telling their story to their guests, with a nice balance of the romance and the light hearted.

Some other things that could feature in your ceremony include (but are not limited to) lighting candles to symbolise remembering and bringing absent family and friends through the ceremony with us; Tying the knot (hand fasting); drinking from a quaich with family members from each side; blending of infinity sands to symbolise the blending together of lives and many more. I am always open to new ideas and traditions from elsewhere too. I’ve had plenty of wonderful and interesting multicultural weddings as well as ‘traditional’ Scottish weddings.

Ultimately, it’s your day and we do it your way. I’m just here to help make your ceremony special as part of your big day.

Please feel free to message with any questions or booking enquiries you may have.
