Some great drams lined up for our next online tasting…

Glenlivet “Illicit Still” - nice to see a 48% version of a 12 year old Glenlivet.

Bruichladdich 10 year old - this is an older bottling from the 2000s, when the distillery had not long been brought back to life.

Loch Lomond 153rd Royal Portrush Chianti Wine Casks - limited edition for the Open last July.

Aberargie Inaugural - the debut 5 year old release from Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers new Perthshire distillery.

The Cairn First Peak - as it says, a glimpse at the spirit of Gordon & MacPhail’s new Speyside project

And finally, there’s a limited release Kilchoman, matured in Maury casks - Maury is a sweet, fortified wine from the Roussillon, France.

Thursday 9th July. 7pm. Online.

About last night: Scottish Rogue were delighted to host a lovely group all the way from Birmingham at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society Glasgow.

We worked our way through four fantastic drams, starting with Fruit Bomb, a newly released blended malt in the heresy range.

We followed that with a beautifully soft Tullibardine before stepping it up with a Royal Brackla that really showed off the distillery’s great relationship with Sherry casks.

To bring things to a close, we finished up with a powerful, peaty number from Glenturret.

A great selection of drams that showcased both the diversity of Scotch and the variety of options available at the SMWS. Great stuff 🥃
