When Alexa and Thomas travelled all the way from Australia to celebrate their wedding at their own Scottish castle in Fife.

It was one of those days that felt incredibly personal from start to finish. Relaxed, meaningful and completely centred around the people they love most.

From emotional speeches and happy tears, to a private castle tour led by Thomas’s father. Every part of the day felt intimate and full of character.

And of course the evening ended exactly as a Scottish wedding should. With a wild ceilidh and a dance floor full of Australian guests fully embracing the tradition.

To make it even more nostalgic, many of these moments were captured on 35mm film. Adding that timeless imperfect beauty that digital simply can’t replicate.

These are the kind of weddings I’ll never get tired of documenting. Genuine moments, beautiful people and a day that felt true to them in every possible way.

🍰 Wedding cakes inspiration 🍒 Save for later

I love when couples treat the wedding cake as part of the whole atmosphere and not just something sitting in the corner waiting to be cut.

The interesting cakes are never the “perfect” ones.
A bit undone, unusual shape, strange colours, textured icing. Something people normally wouldn’t choose for a wedding, somehow that always feels more modern and personal.

And honestly, guests always gather around those cakes first.

Feels less like tradition for the sake of tradition and more like something that actually belongs at that wedding.

Wedding photography has never been only about beautiful images. It is about atmosphere, emotion, connection, movement, style and preserving the feeling of your day in the most honest and timeless way possible. My work is deeply inspired by editorial storytelling, fashion, texture, light, architecture, minimalism and real moments as they naturally unfold from each unique love story.

Welcome party, part II

After a relaxed start to the day, Keeley & Jackson and I headed to the old Auchen Castle ruins for a little adventure photoshoot. And honestly this is one of the reasons I love multi-day wedding weekends so much. We get the time and freedom to create something truly special without rushing.

The ruins gave us the most atmospheric backdrop, dramatic stone walls, open skies and that rustic Scottish feel that makes destination weddings here so unique.

Later in the evening everyone gathered for private dinner at the oldest pub in Moffat where the atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of character. Guests shared heartfelt speeches, stories and memories the kind of moments that make a wedding weekend feel so personal and unforgettable.

Moments like these are exactly why I always encourage couples to plan more than just a wedding day — a full wedding experience for themselves and the people they love.
