And that’s a wrap ..all Hogmanay trays done & dusted ready to go 🙌🏻
Happy New Year everyone when it comes 🔔 🎊

Auld Lang Syne.

Hogmanay in the Tenements is a time that I will always treasure.
Ma had scrubbed the weans and hoose spotless to her pleasure.

There was Whisky and Sherry in bottle's , just sitting oan the table.
And enough Shortbread and Currant bun to eat if you were able.

We all watched Andy Stewart on TV, singing many a Tartan song.
Glaswegians stood in Georges square ready fur the Bells to b**g.

We wished each other a happy new year in the future many more.
While waiting fur oor First Footer to walk through oor opened door.

They'd bring in their own Bottle , to pour you a hauf or maybe two.
Us weans would be sitting under the kitchen table drinking Irn Bru.

Then with your hoose full of neighbours, Ne'erday was in full blast.
Folks taking a turn to sing, that's how I remember New Year's past.

The Glasgow of old has gone I know but I remember it oh so clear.
