Lovely Gioia Mia Mum Nicola brought the most beautiful offcut of vintage lace she had been keeping safe and treasuring for years. The colour was absolutely gorgeous!

I used a tiny piece of it to make some leaves as part of her commission ♥️

Classic elegance is timeless ♥️

Can you believe this image is from 2010? It's from the very first photoshoot I took part in, 16 years ago now.

So many trends have come and gone since then, and it's been exciting to see how things have changed throughout all these years.

It's also lovely to see images from over a decade ago and see how much you still love a classic look and a timeless vibe.

Gold can be whimsical, a little playful and subtle ♥️

I love buying new supplies, experimenting with them, playing with them, seeing what they go with (in this case, pearls in a soft white and those gorgeous ab rhinestones), and working out new designs.

Most of all, I love seeing brides try on these new designs and chatting to them about what they like and what they would like.

Would you go for gold? Would you pair it with pearls? Maybe choose a different combination of colours?

I'd love to know...

One of the things that's really helped me these past eighteen months has been experimenting and making lots of new pieces (alongside working on my commissions).

I've spent a lot of time in my studio, often leaving at night to go home and then go straight to bed.

There's something very calming about being completely engrossed in something, in feeling your fingers bend and shape the metal, in following the lines and curves of the components, and in working out the architecture and structure of a new piece.

So, I now have lots of lovely new sample pieces for my brides to try on, a greater knowledge of my craft, and a deeper confidence in my abilities.

Good things can definitely come from awful situations ♥️

Hello ♥️

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Sonia.

I made all sorts of bridal headpieces, jewellery, veils, hats for mums, hair accessories and jewellery for bridesmaids and flower girls.

I started my business over twenty years ago now, and have made literally hundreds of pieces over the years.

I've met so many lovely brides, maids and mums during this time, and because almost all of my work is bespoke, our conversations are about much more than just a business transaction.

I've got to know their own style preferences; how they see themselves and their day; and their hopes and dreams. I take all of that, and put it into a design for them to wear.

It's something I love doing more than anything. It's always exciting, different and I'm never short of ideas. And I'm touched that brides and mums come to me from all over Scotland and the North of England.

I've been making veils for a few years now and have some beautiful sample ones in my studio for brides to try on: plain ones; ones decorated with sparkling crystals; lace ones.

They're all hand cut to exactly the length you want, and I stitch them all by hand ♥️

I've always loved making jewellery, and earrings in particular ♥️

This was a pair of bespoke earrings I made a few years ago. Sterling silver and cubic zirconia earring hooks, Swarovski pearls, and Swarovski rhinestone set in silver-tone metal.
