🎡 To Anyone Who Thinks the Funfair’s Has Had There Day… 🎡
As most of you know — I’m a travelling showman.
We move town to town, week to week, setting up, packing down, working all hours — living and breathing funfairs. 🎪🚛
And lately, I keep hearing it…
🗣️ “The funfair industry’s had its day.”
Right. Cheers for that. Real helpful, thanks. 👍
Listen — yeah, things aren’t what they used to be.
But seriously… what is?
📅 It’s 2025. Everything’s changed.
Life’s more expensive, people are stretched, nothing feels the same — and honestly, we all miss how it was.
But that’s not how the world works anymore, is it?
We’ve had to adapt.
No more hammer and nails building the rides from scratch — they fold up, they fold down, they travel smart.
We’re promoting on Facebook, TikTok, reels, stories, you name it.
Not because we’re influencers — because we’ve got no choice. 😂
And yeah, let’s talk money 💸
People love to shout:
“It’s £3 a ride! £5 for that!” 😱
But then spend £6 on a cup of hot milk with foam in Costa and call it “a treat” ☕️
You want to spend your money there? Fine.
But don’t drag the funfair through the mud online like we’re out here robbing people in the street.
We’re a day out, not a bank heist.
Most fairs are free entry. Yep — FREE.
Come down, walk around, soak up the atmosphere.
Smell the donuts, hear the music, feel that buzz 🎶🍩
Just like you did with your mum or dad… or family member.
You don’t have to spend — but if you do, it helps keep us going.
And if you’re unsure — come chat to us.
🎤 Real people. Real graft.
Not everyone’s the same, I get that. But at the end of the day — we’re just normal folk, trying to keep something alive.
We live in caravans, not castles. Doesn’t make us any less human.
There’s good and bad in every walk of life — same here. But most of us are just working our socks off 🧦💪
A fairground isn’t just about spinning rides.
It’s being outside, not stuck on your phone 📱
It’s kids laughing instead of zoning out
It’s families actually talking, not sat in silence at the cinema
It’s a bit of old-school magic ✨
So nah — the funfair hasn’t had its day.
We’ve just had to work harder than ever to keep up with the day.
We’re still here. Still smiling (mostly). Still trying.
And for those who get it — we see you.
Thanks. 💛
