Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of marrying Mel and Johnnie… and from the moment the surprise flower man appeared, followed by Darth Vader’s Imperial March playing just before the bridal party entered, I knew this was going to be a high-energy ceremony!
I shared the story of how they met in their early teens and the journey that brought them to this moment…a relationship filled with joy, laughter, adventure, and so much love… and I’m certain there is plenty more of that still to come.
Demi beautifully read The Giraffe and the Monkey poem before I revealed their heartfelt “three reasons”.
Mel and Johnnie then took part in a handfasting ceremony before exchanging rings and personal vows. They sealed their marriage with a toast of whisky from their personalised quaich, a Scottish touch for such a fun and meaningful celebration.
They even managed to pull off the most perfect dip halfway up the confetti-filled aisle as they made their way back down as newlyweds!
