Hey …. It’s Dean 🎥

Thought it would be a good idea to throw up a little frame of me and tell you guys a bit about me, after all some of you beautiful people have invited me to your wedding .. and some and thinking about it 👀.

One little thing about me is I have a proper dislike for having my photo taken and don’t even start me on someone filming me. This has led me to a style of filmmaking that is incredibly discreet. I have a firm belief that my couples shouldn’t be asked to perform for my camera … let be honest is just awkward.

My aim is always to just film the wedding and show you the best parts back.

2024 is going to be a huge year .. so many amazing weddings, couples and adventures across Europe.

Few frames from my Wedding Photography debut..

How did I end up in this position ? …. Kinda heartbreaking that the booked photographer let the couple down very close to the wedding .. but because the bride had booked an incredible filmmaker ( Dean Johnstone Films ) 😆 she was happy to proceed with just a film. … I wasn’t having that :)

I had my personal camera in my bag and took some frames of the morning and ceremony…

Note … Absolutely not available for wedding photography going forward 😆

Not many people shoot film at weddings .. but I follow a few that do it allot and it’s so beautiful… shout out to for the inspiration.

As Im at weddings mostly with a photographer who is paid to actually photograph the wedding I’ll only ever really catch more behind the scenes moments

But weddings on 35mm film are just special 📷

Excited to share these frames I made at yesterdays wedding.. When I found out the photographer wouldn’t be attending this wedding my heart hurt a little for this beautiful couple , I had it in my head for the days leading up to the wedding that I would try and give them a small number of photos as a gift.

Always lovely to see my friend again 🫶🏻

I must say working with was incredible… such a funny and talented guy ☺️

Yesterday I had the honour of making some pictures during a real wedding.

When I found out my beautiful couple were let down by their photographer very last minute I knew I wanted to try and catch a few moments for them as a gift.

It was so lovely to get to work alongside for the first time .. he’s such a talented and funny guy ☺️

So today I was massively out of my depth, but I offered to capture today because I adore this couple.

Anyone that knows me, knows I’m far from a photographer but I wanted to give them some frames they might like.

I filmed Monica & Marc’s wedding last year and I felt an instant connection with them and their beautiful families.

Today was about celebrating with people that couldn’t make the wedding, it was so lovely seeing Joan looking so well.

Monica looked incredible in her dress 🔥

I just love this moment in this film … Most grooms do over estimate how much they have helped plan a wedding 😂🥰… wasn’t willing to let Ross claim the 30% 🥰 … sound up for this one 🥺🥰

I return to this beautiful and intimate venue in 2023 and 24 and I can’t wait.

Let’s talk about bridesmaids 🙏… there are levels some are like Royal Marines on hand for the brides every whim.. and some are at the bar in flip flops getting smashed 😂.

But they all have one thing in common, they adore the bride and definitely bring an amazing energy to the wedding day.
