Now I’m just gonna speak candidly.
It’s crazy how a little idea can travel so far across the globe. I know for some artists it’s the norm but for me it’s a bit crazy especially considering how this tune came about!
It surprises me because I explain to a lot of ppl that I felt forced to produce.
when you have a talent but find yourself in a industry where you know you don’t naturally fit in but wanna ‘progress’ it’s like a part of yourself has to disappear, you have to be more palatable in order to be received, I felt like I had to change, restrict myself and force myself to fit in all at once 😅 bcos It’s business as they say! And…
I told my friend the other day that the more I’ve presented myself and the sounds I love more authentically to me the more I’ve found my sense of self but not quite been fit the industry status quo. It’s weird I’ve grown so much but that’s also lead to stagnation, it’s a weird place to be in and hard to explain. 🤷🏾♀️
Anyway I’m saying this because the freedom I’ve found in presenting myself my sounds my pallet authentically trumps anything else and Im thankful for the small community of people that resonate.
It still feels weird referring to myself as a producer and seeing people play something I created I don’t know when it will start to feel normal tbh haha! I have a producer tag now so maybe I will get used to it! (It’s mucky)
