Rook Botanics is a Glasgow based floral company that provides workshops, funeral flowers, wedding and event florals.

It began as an antidote to the last couple of years. Sarah, owner of RB, craved beauty and laughter and flowers.

It can feel super self indulgent to take time out to attend floristry workshops and courses. But I wanna be the best florist I can be. I’m not in competition with other florists, just myself. Each year I want to know I’m better than the last. So the other week I whizzed down the M6 to my old stomping grounds, the Midlands.

Thank you so much to for this one day of being immersed in abundant flowers and foliages, absolute f**k off urns and a space to nurture our skills.

Forever next to my heart 🖤

Abbey is always going to be so so special to us. Mine and Scott's first dog together. Alongside the massive f**king urn of her in our lounge, all the pictures of her hanging on our walls and now this permanent dedication to her on my arm any future dog we foster is going to feel like the protagonist from Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca. I hope Abbey haunts our lives forever.

Thank you so so much to for capturing Abbey's daft wee face and for her endless patience during my plural p*e stops! I found Katy on TikTok because she has a greyhound who looks just like A. It was special to swap sighthound stories as I was being tattooed. 🖤

A wedding bouquet inspired by fairies. ✨

Lots of poppies, ranunculus, rosemary, delphinium and spray roses. A pretty pastel pink, blue and orange colour palette, finished with a whimsical lilac ribbon.

Last night we said goodbye to the love of my life. I tricked Scott into getting a greyhound nearly five years ago. I sold him on becoming a fosterer, but the second she stepped foot into our flat we knew we would fail at fostering.

We bought her a car she would fit in, a tartan hallway carpet so she wouldn't slip when running into the kitchen and an endless supply of prawn crackers. In return she gave us unlimited happiness and love.

We've picked out an ostentatiously large urn for her and there will be a laurent perrier fueled party / funeral in the coming weeks. We're so, so grateful to our friends and families who have reached out. Abbey was cherished.

I've a really colourful, creative wedding to look forward to this weekend. Feeling grateful that I've built a business that brings so much beauty into my life, whilst still allowing me flexibility. I will be playing catch up on emails the next days, my inbox is a state! Today we've jumped in the car to enjoy Scottish scenery in the sunshine.

I'll also be at the fundraiser this Sunday doing a dried wreath workshop. I did a v v bad job of advertising this for obvious reasons!! I had a big studio clear out of dried flowers, so tickets are super affordable. Come along to help save Spot / help me move around my flat without bumping into buckets of dried florals. Head to Spot's IG for info.
