From local events and maintenance to big ideas for the future, it’s all up for discussion. Whether you're keen to help out or just curious, you’re warmly invited.

We’re looking for residents who want to make a difference.
Nominations are invited for committee roles including Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Booking Secretary, and ordinary committee members. Please note that all Committee Members are also Trustees of the Charity and registered with the Charities Commission. If you are interested, please contact us on [email protected] and we’ll get back to you.

Tales from a Retired Customs Officer / Quiz night Friday 24 April 7:00 - 10:30PM @ Claughton Memorial Village Hall
Join us for a captivating session with Brian Topping, as he shares first hand accounts from his career at Heathrow Airport. From the ingenious tactics of smugglers to the eccentric encounters with passengers, Brian’s stories offer a unique, behind-the-scenes look at a bygone era of aviation security. Round the evening off with a fun general knowledge quiz.

The evening features a licensed bar, as well as a selection of teas and coffees. Whether you're looking for a sharp G&T or a cozy brew, we’ve got you covered.
Raffle for a Cause
Participate in our raffle held in aid of SUDC UK (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood). Your support helps fund research and provides assistance to families affected by these tragedies.

Join us for a screening of Sunshine on Leith — the joyful Scottish musical directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Stephen Greenhorn.
Set in Edinburgh, the film follows best friends Davy and Ally as they return home after serving in Afghanistan and try to adjust to civilian life. As friendships, romances, and family relationships unfold, the characters navigate love, forgiveness, and long-held secrets — all set to the uplifting songs of Scottish band The Proclaimers.

Claughton Memorial Village Hall Toilet Facilities Upgrade - Request our Tender!
Help us modernise our community hub for everyone.
Claughton Memorial Village Hall is applying for a grant and is seeking expressions of interest from experienced contractors for a complete refurbishment of our existing toilet facilities. We aim to create modern, fully accessible, and high-quality facilities that serve all members of our community.
Scope of Work
• Ladies, Gents and Disabled facilities
• Reconfiguration of some existing internal layout to maximise space.
• Installation of new sanitaryware, flooring, and wall covering.
• ADA/Part M compliant accessible toilet.
• Upgrades to plumbing and electrical systems (including energy-efficient lighting).
• Replacement double glazed windows and entrance doors.
Minimum Requirements
• Proven track record in similar community or commercial refurbishments.
• Relevant insurance (Public Liability) and Health & Safety compliance.
• Ability to work within a set timeframe to minimise hall user impact.

Friends of St Mary's Claughton School present a Christmas wreath making workshop. Full tuition will be given with all materials and festive refreshments. This is a fundraiser to take the children to events outside schools.
