Two back-to-back weekends of festivals DONE! The Godney Gathering and Trowbridge Music Festival. What an incredible experience.

The customer feedback was amazing. And it reminded me exactly why I won Best Caribbean Street Food Trader at The UK Caribbean Food Awards 2024 and was a finalist for Best Caribbean Caterer 2025.

The taste and infused Guyanese flavours speak for themselves. This is not your regular average festival food - no burgers and chips, no pizza, or just noodles. This is proper Guyanese and Caribbean flavours made with premium, locally sourced meat. Done properly. Done with love.

And I could not have done it without my incredible team. My girls Tamara and Sophia worked incredibly hard, and even my kids pitched in at Trowbridge Festival!
This is a family affair, and I am so proud of every single one of them.
Thank you to every single person who came to our stall, tried something new, and came back for seconds. You lot make it all worth it.

With the UK turning up the heat , this is your gentle reminder from my kitchen to yours: keep hydrated! 💧

To help you beat the heat, I'm sharing two of my absolute favourite, thirst-quenching drinks straight from my Guyanese & Caribbean kitchen. These are perfect for sipping in the garden or keeping cool indoors. 🥂

🍋 Classic Guyanese Swank 🍋
Nothing says refreshment quite like this traditional favourite!
• Freshly squeezed limes and lemons
• A handful of fresh mint (straight from my garden!)
• A dash of freshly grated nutmeg for that authentic Caribbean warmth
• Sweeten to taste and serve over plenty of ice.

🍓 Fruity Summer Refresher 🍓
A beautiful, vibrant drink that's packed with flavour and goodness!
• A blend of your favourite fresh and frozen fruits, and to sparkling mineral water or pure water 💧. Mix until some fruits are squashed or you can blend a handful then add to mixture. Optional- sweetened to taste.

• My top tip: Make ice cubes using apple juice and fresh strawberries to pop into your glass. As they melt, they add even more delicious flavour instead of watering down your drink!

**Happy Windrush Day! 🇬🇧🚢**

Today, we pause to honour and celebrate the incredible Windrush Generation.

On 22 June 1948, the HMT Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury Docks, bringing with it the hopes, dreams, and immense resilience of Caribbean men and women who answered the call to help rebuild Britain after the Second World War.

They stepped off that ship and straight into the heart of this country. They became the backbone of the newly formed NHS, drove the buses and trains that kept cities moving, and worked tirelessly in construction and manufacturing. They brought with them not just their skills and strong work ethic, but their vibrant culture, delicious food, rich music, and an unshakeable spirit that has forever shaped British society.

As a Guyanese and Caribbean woman, a mother, and a business owner, I am deeply moved by their legacy. They left their homes, families, and everything they knew, facing unimaginable challenges and discrimination, yet they persevered. They laid the foundation so that generations after them could thrive, build businesses, and create a beautiful, diverse community here in the UK.

Their courage is woven into the very fabric of Britain. Today, we say thank you. We honour your sacrifices, we celebrate your contributions, and we promise to keep your stories alive.

Let us always remember whose shoulders we stand on. ❤️💛💚

The sauna will be open 👌🏾.
There's a big open space in the orchard for you to spread your picnic blankets and enjoy the atmosphere. And food of course 😋

It's our first cricket festival this year!
Today we are at Butleigh Village Cricket Festival in Butleigh, Somerset Serving up our winning Guyanese and Caribbean flavoursome deliciousness as per usual 😋

Our next cricket festival is going to be down in Exmouth, Devon on Sunday 16th August. It’s going to be our 4th year catering for their Annual Windrush Cricket Festival 🏏
