🌾 Harvest Flowers for Main Street Community Church 🌾

I was delighted to be asked to create some floral arrangements for the Harvest Festival at Main Street Community Church. 🌾⛪️

I was given a beautiful selection of flowers, foliage and vases to work with, combining them with other seasonal treasures to create arrangements celebrating the abundance, colours and simple beauty of the harvest season.

There’s something rather special about bringing flowers into a community space, especially at this time of year, when nature offers us so many beautiful textures, warm colours and little seasonal surprises. 🍂

Thank you to Main Street Community Church for asking me to be part of such a lovely occasion. It was a joy to bring a little of the beauty of the garden indoors. 🌿

🎃🍂 A little autumn magic at The Little Flower Jar 🍂🎃

What a beautiful morning spent with our budding florists at Castle Park Arts Centre! 🧡

With the rain pouring outside and the wind blowing a blustery tune, we tucked ourselves away with gorgeous flowers, yummy cakes and cosy drinks, creating a little autumn magic of our own. ☕️🍰

It was such a joy to watch everyone’s creativity blossom as the most stunning floral pumpkins came to life. Every single one was beautiful and so wonderfully individual!

What a lovely group of people, coming together on a cold and blustery day to slow down, get creative and make something special. You really did make my morning! 🧡

A huge thank you to Castle Park Arts Centre for the delicious drinks and cakes, and for making us feel so welcome. It was the perfect cosy setting for a morning of flowers, friendship and creativity. 🌿

Sometimes the loveliest magic happens when the weather is wild outside and we’re busy making beautiful things together. ✨

Thank you to everyone who came along and made our workshop so special. I hope you left with happy hearts and your beautiful floral pumpkins to enjoy at home.

🌿 Crossing the stepping stones… 🌿

Tomorrow will be the last day that The Little Flower Jar is open at Lady Heyes, and as this little chapter comes to an end, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. 💚

Every visit, every bunch of flowers bought, every kind word, every bit of encouragement and every bit of love has meant more to me than you will ever know.

The Little Flower Jar has always been about more than a little shop. It’s about flowers, seasons, nature, creativity and bringing a little joy into everyday life. 🌸

So please don’t worry… this isn’t goodbye!

I’ll still be creating seasonal flowers, delivering little jars of joy straight to your door, running workshops, keeping my honesty stall stocked and dreaming up lots of lovely new things along the way.

Sometimes we have to trust our instincts, follow our hearts and allow ourselves to grow in a different direction.

The Little Flower Jar is crossing the stepping stones, not stopping. 🌿

As one door closes, another opens, and I’m choosing to see this as an opportunity to grow in a way that feels natural, organic and true to me.

🌿 Flowers should have a sense of place.

There’s something lovely about knowing your flowers haven’t travelled halfway around the world to reach your vase.

I choose British-grown flowers wherever I can — because they belong to our seasons, support our growers and can provide precious food and habitat for our garden wildlife. 🐝🌸

And I love them for their imperfections too.

The wonky stem.
The little seed head.
The flower that isn’t quite the same as the one beside it.

They look like they’ve actually grown in a garden — because they have. 🤍

From spring narcissi to summer sweet peas and autumn dahlias, seasonal flowers remind us to slow down and enjoy what nature is giving us right now.

At The Little Flower Jar, my flowers are always British grown, but they may come a little bit further.

Because beautiful flowers don’t need to be perfect.
They just need to tell a story. 🌿

🌙 Nicotiana — flowers of the night 🌙

There is something rather magical about Nicotiana.

Its trumpet-shaped flowers seem to come alive as the light fades, releasing their beautiful fragrance into the evening air. Perhaps that is why it has gathered a little folklore around it — a flower associated with dusk, night gardens and the mysterious world that wakes when we go to bed.

And there is a lovely reason to grow pale flowers in an evening garden too. White and light-coloured blooms are much easier for moths and other night-flying pollinators to find in the moonlight. Their evening fragrance can help guide them towards the nectar.

So while we might admire the garden in the sunshine, there is another whole garden quietly unfolding after dark. 🌿🌙

I love the thought that planting flowers isn’t just about what we see. It’s about creating a little habitat for the creatures that visit when we’re not even watching.

Join us for a relaxed and creative morning surrounded by beautiful dried flowers and natural foliage.

You’ll create your own unique wreath to take home — a timeless piece that will add a touch of nature and warmth to your home and last for years to come. 🌾

Enjoy a friendly, welcoming atmosphere as you create, chat and take a break from the everyday. No previous experience is needed, and everything you need will be provided.

🌕🌱 The cycle doesn’t stop…

While we’re still enjoying the last blooms of this season, flower farmers are already looking ahead, sowing seeds for next year’s flowers.

There’s something rather magical about it — the garden may be slowing down, the nights are drawing in and the Harvest Moon is glowing above us, but beneath the soil, the next season is already beginning.

Seeds are being gathered, sown and tucked away. Bulbs are being planted. Beds are being prepared. Tiny beginnings are being made for flowers we won’t see for many months yet.

The old gardening traditions often followed the moon, believing that its changing light could guide the rhythm of planting and growth. Whether you follow the moon or simply follow the seasons, the message feels the same:

Nothing really ends in the garden. It simply changes.

One season gives way to another.
Flowers fade and leave behind seeds.
The harvest becomes the beginning of the next crop.
And somewhere, quietly beneath the earth, something is already getting ready to bloom. 🌱

So as we gather up this year’s flowers, let’s remember that next year’s little wonders are already on their way.

The cycle doesn’t stop. It just begins again. 🤍🌕
