Well… my new pond is finally in! 💚😂
It wasn’t quite as straightforward as I’d imagined. I buried an old sand pit, but it wasn’t level! 🤦♀️🤣 Out it came, and we started all over again. This time I used a pond liner. Hopefully, second time’s the charm!
Now I can’t wait to see who comes to visit. My biggest wish? Frogs! 🐸 Not only are they wonderful little characters, but they’ll hopefully help keep the slugs under control too—nature has a wonderful way of finding its own balance.
I love the idea that even the smallest garden can become a sanctuary for wildlife. Every pond, flower and quiet corner can offer a home to creatures that are so important to our environment. My pond is hidden away, surrounded by long grass.
Here’s hoping that before long I’ll be hearing the gentle croaks of new residents, watching dragonflies dance across the water, and seeing this little pond become a thriving haven for wildlife.
Sometimes things don’t go quite to plan, but they’re always worth it in the end. 💚
Has anyone else had a gardening project that didn’t quite go to plan at first? 😂🌿
