The time has come!

Due to transport difficulties this week I have decided to take this moment to officially announce the end of our flower season.

The flowers are slowing down, they're in preparation for there winters rest and it's about time I helped tuck them in. There's lots of work to be done in the field to prepare for winter and lots of sowing for the next flower season. I will certainly be kept busy.

We shall be back Simpsons Nurseries with Christmas wreaths at the end of November and our British Flowers will be back in Spring 2027.

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us this year, brought from us, liked or shared our posts it's all meant so much.

Also a huge thank you to Simpsons Nurseries and Mother and son, Lucie and Frank for all there support and for championing British Flowers.

July brought us an abundance of blooms and the start of the Dahlias.

We left the Dahlias in the ground over winter, which thankfully wasn't too wet. We only lost a few to rot and the rest along with a few new ones (around 100!) have been flowering since and have continued all summer long.

There are lots of flowers in the field, but they're slowing down. They've had an extremely tough year!

We like to have a good mix of flowers for our bouquets and because of this, this week could possibly be our last bouquets of the season.

We will still be able to supply wholesale/florist orders for the time being but we shall have a close eye on what is happening in the field.

Socials will be updated when the season officially closes.

Looking back on August and the continued heat.

It took a lot of intervention and determination to get through the drought and thankfully we were continuously rewarded with most of the flowers pushing through.

We did lose quite a few crops, either by them flowering all at once, going to seed to quickly, not growing much or not growing at all!

It will certainly be the year that taught us, the year that tested us and the year we can change or adapt, as I fear long spells of drought could become the norm.

And just like that June was upon us and the field started to explode with colour.

The mornings are getting darker and the nights are drawing in, you can really start to feel the shift of the season.

This shift also means we're now counting down the days or weeks left of our flowering season. There's so much colour in the flower field but everything is beginning to slow down, getting ready for their rest.

So grab those British Blooms whilst you can, because soon we shall be saying goodbye to the Season of 2026!
