Your wedding ceremony should feel like you. ❤️

Not a generic script with your names added, but a meaningful celebration of the relationship you've built and the life you're planning together.

It might include the story of how you met, the little things that make you laugh, the challenges you've overcome or the people who have shaped your journey.

Perhaps you'd like something romantic and traditional, relaxed and light-hearted, or a thoughtful blend of the two.

There is no single way to celebrate a marriage.

As a celebrant, my role is to get to know you and help create a ceremony that reflects your relationship and the things that matter most to you.

Today is World Food Day, and I can't help thinking about the memories we attach to food. 🍰

Mum's Sunday roast.
Nan's apple crumble.
Dad's barbecue.
That one family recipe nobody has ever quite managed to recreate!

Food can take us straight back to childhood, family gatherings and the people who made us feel at home.

When I'm putting together a funeral tribute, stories about favourite meals, kitchen mishaps and family traditions can reveal so much about someone's personality.

So, let's have a little fun.

Tonight, at 7 pm, people around the world will light a candle in remembrance of babies who have died during pregnancy or in infancy. 🕯️

Baby loss is a deeply personal experience, and every family's journey is different.

For some, the grief is shared openly. For others, it is carried quietly. But the love for a much-wanted or much-loved baby is no less real.

Sometimes, simply acknowledging a little life and making space to remember can mean so much.

This evening, I'll be thinking of all the families who carry these memories with them.

If you're taking part in the Wave of Light, you are very much in my thoughts.

Sometimes, it's the smallest things that bring someone back to us for a moment. ❤️

The way they laughed.

The phrase they always used.

The cup of tea they made just right.

Their favourite song, their familiar footsteps or the chair they always sat in.

When I write a funeral tribute, these details often help paint the clearest picture of the person being remembered.

So here's a question for you:

I still speak with people who do not realise that they can arrange a direct cremation with their local funeral director or crematorium.

If this is something that you are considering, in the first instance, please speak with your loved ones, as they may want a service for you. Funerals are for the living and some people consider this a part of the grieving process.

If a direct cremation is still something that you would like to go ahead with, please call your local funeral director or local crematorium, as they will be able to make arrangements with you and guide you through the process, ensuring that you are looked after.
